Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
1 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Xavier Peterson! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
1 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Jakelius Juston! The judges for this bout are Alec Ball, Gregory Folan and Elvis Blanc.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Peterson gets caught flat footed, as Juston shoots in with a quick takedown into guard. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Juston stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Peterson swivels though and keeps the full guard. Juston has gone for a leg lock! Peterson slips out almost immediately though and dives into Juston's guard. Juston escapes his hips to the side and looks to be working for an armbar. Peterson gives him a little smile and shakes his head. No chance. Juston is doing well to control the posture of his opponent and prevent any damage.
That's one minute gone in the round. Peterson scores with a decent looking elbow strike. Peterson trying to land body shots but he keeps hitting the mat. Juston controlling the position. The referee must be thinking about standing these guys back up.
Jakelius Juston has forced the referee to step in and restart the fight on the feet. Peterson tries to clinch but Juston moves away and Juston counters with a shoot takedown into half guard. Juston is looking for the mount but instead finds himself back in full guard. Juston drops back, looking for a kneebar! Peterson looks panicked! The fighters roll across the mat, one looking to finish, one looking to escape. Peterson looks to have wriggled free... Yes, he's got his leg free and he's dived into side control! Good work there from Peterson! Juston wants to control but Peterson postures up.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Juston is in a bad spot here and he knows it... just holding on for now. Peterson postures up a little and throws a couple of hammerfists but they don't connect properly.

Juston holds on to Peterson's head and controls the position momentarily. Peterson wants to stand but Juston has him controlled and pulls him back into his guard. Peterson is breathing heavily.
That's four minutes gone in the round. A lull in the action here being met with boos from the crowd. Peterson being controlled here momentarily. The referee must be thinking about standing these guys back up.
The ref calls for a clean break and stands the fighters back up. Jakelius Juston wasn't active enough on the ground. Juston shoots in for a takedown and gets it. Oh and he's advanced to full mount straight away. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Juston tries to sprawl but Peterson drives through with a takedown into half guard. Peterson throwing punches and elbows but they're not doing any damage. Juston regains full guard, whilst avoiding punches from Peterson. Juston is pulling down on Peterson's head to control his posture. Peterson throws a big right hand that misses. Peterson wants to pass the guard but Juston is keeping the position. Juston has his hands on Peterson's head, controlling the position. Let's hope that Juston has the urge to step up the pace any second now because for the last 15 or 20 seconds he's just been holding on tight. Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.

The ref calls for a clean break and stands the fighters back up. Jakelius Juston wasn't active enough on the ground. Peterson throws a series of punches but Juston avoids them all with ease. Peterson misses with a double jab
and Juston counters with a shoot takedown. Peterson fights it but they end up in guard. Juston trying to control the position from guard on top but Peterson is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Juston postures up as if he's going to throw some strikes but drops back for an ankle! Peterson is in big trouble! He looks ready to tap! But no, he's escaped and dives on top of Juston, into his guard. Juston controlling the position.

The ref calls for a clean break and stands the fighters back up. Jakelius Juston wasn't active enough on the ground. Peterson closes the distance looking to clinch and Juston moves into the clinch. Juston successfully pulls guard.

The ref stands the fighters back up, due to lack of action by Jakelius Juston. Peterson jabbing away but nothing is landing. Juston fakes an overhand right and shoots for a takedown. Peterson sprawls well initially but Juston persists and gets the takedown into half guard. Juston sitting and controlling from the half guard. Juston trying to control from half guard but Peterson is working away. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Jakelius Juston showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards. That's the end of the interval. I'm sure that seemed a lot quicker than a minute for our two fighters! Back to the action. Let's get this one finished - here comes the final round!

Juston trying to control the action but Peterson is working from the bottom. Juston is trying a forearm choke… I don't think that's going to do much at this level of the game.

Juston is looking for a kimura but Peterson is holding onto that half guard position, so it's hard for Juston to get the leverage. Juston wants to lay and pray for a moment but Peterson keeps working. Juston is trying to advance to mount but he's lost his balance and Peterson reverses the position - he's now on top in Juston's guard. Juston utilising some decent striking defenses from the guard, preventing the ground and pound.
That's four minutes gone in the round. A few boos can be heard. I'm sure they will multiply if the fighters don't pick up the pace. Peterson throwing elbows and punches but not connecting, as Juston works some decent striking defense from the bottom. Peterson working some ground and pound from guard but it's not doing any damage. Peterson with a flurry of punches that miss. Xavier Peterson has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here! A big thud reverberates around the arena there as Peterson accidentally thumps the mat. Hopefully he's not broken his hand. Juston avoiding any damage from the ground and pound. Juston keeping moving, preventing Peterson from controlling successfully. Juston pulls Peterson in close to prevent any damage. Jakelius Juston is fighting for a decision here - he's started to take the cautious approach. The crowd thankful this round is nearly over.
And that's the end of the fight! Jakelius Juston comfortably won the final round on my scorecard. Well Juston has outworked and out performed his opponent in all aspects of the game today. He was simply too good and the decision should be no more than a formality. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
