Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 2 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Alex Summers!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 4 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Daniel Alves!
The judges for this bout are Shirou Masuda, Shigeki Fujiwara and Hirohito Nitta.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Summers throws a lazy head kick
and Alves connects with a straight left hand counter down the middle.

Alves passes easily into side control. Nice work.
Alves wants to lay and pray for a moment but Summers keeps working.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!

and Alves counters with a kick to the head that grazes his opponent. Summers is lucky that one didn't land flush.

Summers jumps guard but his hands slip and he falls flat on his back. Well, he's made himself look a right mug there, as Alves walks away with a smile on his face. Summers gets slowly back to his feet and shakes his head.

and Alves decides to take the opportunity to score a takedown. He's landed in Summers's guard.
The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.
Alves wants to control from the top but Summers keeps moving.
Alves must be cautious of submissions here, given that his opponent has the superior Jiu Jitsu.

Summers has his foot on Alves's thigh. He's trying to push off and get in position for a triangle, I think. Alves works his way back into a safe position though.

Summers has a loose triangle. He'll be looking to tighten that up but Alves can see exactly what he's planning and manages to posture up and free himself.

Alves drops back for a leg! It's a sloppy attempt though and Alves jumps back into guard quickly, to retain the dominant position.
