Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Coach Goochman (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Jake Dresari (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Goochman comes to the cage accompanied by Public Enemy - He Got Game. Dresari has chosen Execution Song as his entrance music. Both fighters look fresh as a daisy as they make their way towards the cage.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
2 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Coach Goochman! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
2 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Jake Dresari! The judges for this bout are Skip Squint, Damien Edna and Winston Howard.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Dresari checks the leg kick. Goochman ducks under a wild hook from Dresari. Dresari wants to clinch. Goochman throws a decent looking leg kick but it doesn't land clean. Jab, cross, leg kick. Nice combination by Dresari!
Well, he's not going to score with shots like that. A lazy body kick attempt from Goochman. Goochman shoots in for a takedown and gets it. Oh and he's advanced to full mount straight away. Goochman jumps to the side looking to secure the arm triangle…. Ooooh, that looks tight… Dresari is gargling but he's managed to escape! Nice work there by Dresari and Goochman has given up the dominant position trying to land that submission.
Goochman wants to work for a kimura but he's foiled early by Dresari, who protects the arm well. Dresari is trying to control Goochman's posture but Goochman avoids it. Goochman is looking to take a break and control but Dresari is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom.
That's one minute gone in the round. Goochman working away. Goochman is looking to finish here, going for an Americana. Dresari knows the correct defense though, so he's OK. Dresari is trying to get back to his feet.
Neither fighter is doing enough for the referee's liking and he's decided to stand them back up. Goochman tries a head kick but it misses.
Coach Goochman seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. Goochman throws a front kick aimed at Dresari's knee but Dresari avoids it well.
That's two minutes gone in the round. The crowd are getting on the fighters' backs, as the pace has dropped off in the last minute or so. Dresari throws a right and a left that Goochman avoids nicely. Goochman throws a head kick that misses. Dresari avoids a kick to the body.
Dresari tries a switch kick but it misses it's target. Goochman throws a leg kick but Dresari sees it coming and checks it nicely. Goochman misses with an attempted mid kick.

The sound of bone on bone echoes around the arena as Dresari checks a leg kick. Good work by Dresari as he checks the leg kick. Donk. Dresari catches Goochman right on the button with a cross. Dresari misses with a half-hearted attempt at a head kick.
Dresari throws a head kick that misses. Dresari throws a wild combination but nothing lands. Dresari connects with a high kick.

Dresari moves out of range as Goochman throws a body kick.
Goochman is breathing heavily. Goochman throws a chopping leg kick but Dresari manages to avoid taking any serious damage. Dresari pulls out of a head kick attempt.
Jake Dresari is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs. Dresari throws a head kick but Goochman moves out of range.

He's worked his way up against the cage but Goochman has just dragged him back down to the mat. Goochman is looking to take a break and control but Dresari is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom. You can see the frustration on Dresari's face, being in this tough position on the bottom.
The referee has ruled that neither fighter is active enough on the ground and has stood them back up. Goochman misses with a low kick. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Jake Dresari dominated that round. The fighters' corners scream their final instructions, as the referee calls time. Here we go, back to the action!

Goochman looks frustrated there after his takedown attempt is stuffed easily. That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Coach Goochman. That's going to take a lot out of him. Goochman shoots in from a long way out. He's driving through with the takedown attempt and he eventually gets it, landing in Dresari's guard. Dresari not looking particularly offensive just at the moment.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Dresari looking for a sweep. Not yet Dresari, not yet. Goochman is looking to advance position but Dresari has hit a scissor sweep - now he's on top in mount! Dresari is in full mount, looking to secure a guillotine but Goochman is surviving well by controlling Dresari's body position as best he can. Dresari tries to stand up but he's trapped just for the moment.

Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here. Goochman looking to escape from mount but he's given up his back! Goochman is keeping busy.
Goochman just trying to survive but Dresari is wriggling into a better position, looking to finish. Goochman is in a bad position, trying to hold on for dear life but he is really struggling to maintain any sort of control. Goochman is in bad spot here.
That's two minutes gone in the round. There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action. Dresari is staying calm and holding on to the back position, whilst working on a rear naked choke. Goochman is defending well though. Dresari let's go of the attempt for now. Goochman tries to escape but Dresari has the hooks in and won't let him break free. Goochman just trying to survive but Dresari is wriggling into a better position, looking to finish. Goochman is trying to break free.

Goochman really must keep his cool here. He's controlling one of Dresari's hands and whilst he does that, he's got a chance of escaping the position. Goochman can't escape the position.

It looks like we're going to have a standup here. Neither fight is doing enough on the ground. Goochman changes levels and drives through with a really nice takedown into side control. Dresari looks really pissed at himself for not defending that better. Goochman looking for an arm triangle but it's way too loose to do anything. Dresari is moving his hips around well on the bottom and has managed to get back to half guard. Goochman is tying to control. Dresari wants to improve his position but can't escape this time. Dresari wants to get back to his feet. Goochman is looking to advance position but Dresari won't allow it. Goochman wants to lay and pray for a moment but Dresari keeps working. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
That was a close second round but I would say that Coach Goochman will probably get the nod. The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action. This is the final round!

Goochman is trying to control the action in half guard but Dresari is working away on the bottom, looking perhaps to get back to full guard. Dresari is working for an escape here. He's hooked one of Goochman's legs and he's managed to sneak out and take Goochman's back! Dresari trying to control momentarily.

It's a versatile position from which he can work both strikes and submissions, whilst maintaining that control, so maybe he'll sit here for a while.
