Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the bantamweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
5 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Andre Young! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
4 - 1 - 1, fighting out of Los Angeles, Roye Jackson! The judges for this bout are Jack Bonds, and Frank Antenori.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Young shoots in from a long way out. He's driving through with the takedown attempt and he eventually gets it, landing in Jackson's guard. Jackson working the defensive guard well to avoid strikes from Young. Young stands and throws Jackson's legs to the side, diving into side control. Jackson gives up the full mount - oops, sloppy defensive grappling there! The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Young fakes a shot to the body and cracks his opponent in the head. Nice ground and pound there!
The crowd growing excited in anticipation of a finish here! Right on cue, Young cracks his opponent with a massive right hand that draws loud cheers!
Young landing punches. Young has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission. Young landing strikes, looking to finish! We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out! Young looking to secure an arm triangle but Jackson defends it well. Jackson wants to control but Young is having none of it.
That's one minute gone in the round. Jackson is in all sorts of trouble here.

That's two minutes gone in the round. Young with the ground and pound from mount. The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here. Young is going oldschool here, as he tries to force Jackson to tap using a forearm choke. This isn't 1993 though, so Jackson shrugs it off. Young postures up and cracks his opponent a couple of times before moving back into close ground control. Jackson looks a forlorn figure.

Jackson is rocked! Jackson looks gassed! Jackson is bucking up trying to escape but Young cracks him with another couple of good strikes. Jackson is still in real trouble! Can Young finish him?
That's three minutes gone in the round. Young has hold of Jackson's left arm, perhaps looking for a submission. The two fighters tussle over control of the isolated limb and Jackson manages to get his arm back to his side and away from danger.
Jackson seems to have recovered his senses. Jackson takes a big shot to the head but keeps on trying to improve his position. Young with shots to the head and body - Jackson looks very uncomfortable down there. Young looking to finish Jackson with some ground and pound. This is bad for Jackson! Young with good strikes from the mount here! Young is working for a guillotine from mount but Jackson frees his head quite easily.

That's four minutes gone in the round. Young pausing momentarily but resumes with a couple of decent strikes that do a bit of damage. Jackson is just holding on here. Young manages to take his back.
Young is working the ground and pound here and the referee is taking a close look at Jackson. He must escape soon or this one will be stopped. The crowd are going absolutely nuts as the round comes to an end - what a fantastic round of action! Young gets his hooks in and is throwing strikes. Young looking for the choke but no joy. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Watch the back of the head! Comes the shout from the referee towards Young.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Andre Young dominated that round. The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action.

Young lands a big shot. The thud that echoes around the arena is like music to the fans' ears. Andre Young overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far. Young stands, ready to strike. The ref makes him back up and allows Jackson to get to his feet. Young feints and as Jackson raises his hands in defense, Young changes levels and drives through with a takedown into guard.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Young passes easily into side control. Nice work. Jackson is breathing heavily. Jackson is looking for a sweep. Young grinds an elbow into Jackson's temple. Jackson tries to improve position but can't. Young decides to stand back up. Young steps back and let's Jackson get back to his feet. Young closes the distance, clinches up and gets a nice trip takedown into side control. Very smooth. Young passes to full mount! That's big trouble for Jackson! Young landing strikes from the mount and Jackson is in trouble!

Jackson is writhing around trying to get back to his feet. Young throws some shoulder strikes here and then postures up. Oh, he's gone for an armbar! Jackson has his hands clasped together but Young breaks the hold and Jackson is forced to tap! This one is aaaaaaaaaaall over! That was lightning fast by Young!
