The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Vasquez avoids the clinch attempt nicely.
Vasquez moves into range and clinches up with Kirwan.
Kirwan pulls guard.
Kirwan bucks up whilst keeping hold of a body lock, managing to reverse the position. Now he's in top in Vasquez's guard.
Kirwan works a leg free and moves into half guard.
Kirwan is pressing down on Vasquez's thigh, looking to free his foot. Vasquez is holding on for now.
Vasquez is looking for a sweep. Kirwan is wise to his cunning plan and keeps the top position.
Vasquez punching from the bottom.
Vasquez is looking to sinch up a guillotine here but Kirwan pulls his head out easily.
Kirwan has freed up his trapped foot and advances to mount.
Vasquez tries to hold on but Kirwan postures up.
Kirwan looking to finish with strikes here!

Kirwan wants to finish this one by submission but Vasquez is holding onto his waist, trying to prevent any attacks from Kirwan.
Vasquez is in a horrible position here, under a barrage of strikes, he's managing to avoid any damage.
Kirwan wants to control the pace but Vasquez is squirming around nicely.
Kirwan is working to isolate an arm here. It's a telegraphed submission attempt but he's gone for it anyway - and he's got it! Kirwan extends the arm and Vasquez is forced to tap!
