The judges for this bout are James Atkins, William Gold and Sam Margolis.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Burns fails with a takedown attempt from distance.
Davis misses the shot to the body.
Burns falls off balance throwing a combination
and Davis counters with a good low kick that Burns was not able to check.
Davis tries a head kick but it misses.
Burns misses with a leg kick.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

and Burns counters with a shoot takedown into half guard.
Davis holds on for dear life, maintaining half guard for now.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Burns wants to control but Davis is keeping him busy.

Burns is keen to just control but Davis is a slippery customer.
The referee looks like he's ready to step in and stand the fighters back up.
Davis avoiding damage under a succession of punches from Burns.
Burns not landing any meaningful shots this time.
Davis wants to get back to his feet.
Davis wants to get back to full guard but Burns has mounted him!
Burns lands a couple of nice shots there from mount.
It looks like Roman Davis has been cut.
Burns scores with a couple of good head shots there.
Burns has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission.

Roman Davis's cut is absolute horrible now. This looks like something out of a horror film with blood covering both fighters.
The referee calls the doctor in to look at Roman Davis's cut. Oh no, the doctor has called an end to the bout!
