Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Ivan Potapkin (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Bernz Sinfuego (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Bernz Sinfuego will no doubt be looking to use his reach advantage to good effect.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of St Petersburg, Ivan Potapkin!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 2 - 1 - 0, fighting out of St Petersburg, Bernz Sinfuego!
The judges for this bout are Viktor Lagutenko, Illya Tyunina and Valeri Chadov.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Potapkin takes a head kick and keeps coming.
Sinfuego lunges in with swinging rights and lefts but Potapkin circles away quickly and effectively.
Sinfuego throws a head kick that misses.
Sinfuego walks forward and throws out a flicking leg kick. Potapkin checks it nicely though, as he moves to the side.
Sinfuego throws a chopping leg kick but Potapkin manages to avoid taking any serious damage.
Sinfuego rushes forward with a series of wild hooks but Potapkin moves out of range and avoids them all easily.
Sinfuego swings wildly with a couple of big hooks
and Potapkin counters with a quick right hand to the jaw.
Potapkin blocks a head kick by Sinfuego.
Potapkin has a takedown stuffed.
Sinfuego misses with a double jab
and Potapkin counters with a crisp hook to the side of the head.
Sinfuego throws a leg kick

and Potapkin counters with a shoot takedown. Sinfuego fights it but they end up in guard.

Potapkin is trying to work a guillotine from the top, or something like that? Don't know how he thinks he's going to get a finish from there.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.
Sinfuego wants to get back to his feet but Potapkin is in a dominant position and won't allow it.
Sinfuego keeping moving, preventing Potapkin from controlling successfully.
Sinfuego wants to stand up but Potapkin is controlling him.

Sinfuego keeping full guard, as Potapkin tries to pass.

Potapkin thinks about going for a leg but decides against it, in order to maintain the position.
Sinfuego wants to stand up but Potapkin is controlling him.
Potapkin wants to control from the top but Sinfuego keeps moving.
Potapkin wants to pass the guard but Sinfuego is keeping the position.
Potapkin won't allow Sinfuego to get back to his feet.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Potapkin is looking to stand up but Sinfuego won't let him.
Potapkin trying to control the position from guard on top but Sinfuego is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.
Potapkin is really struggling to control Sinfuego but he's trying to hold on to the position.

The ref stands the fighters back up. Ivan Potapkin wasn't doing enough on the ground.
Sinfuego lands with a head kick! That's gotta hurt.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
Sinfuego throws a sloppy head kick

so Potapkin counters with a double leg into guard. Good agility.
Both fighters really going for it on the ground here!
Sinfuego looks gassed!
Sinfuego is looking to get back to his feet but can't, whilst Potapkin is controlling him.

Potapkin is trying to work a guillotine from the top, or something like that? Don't know how he thinks he's going to get a finish from there.
Potapkin passes Sinfuego's left leg - he's now in half guard.

Potapkin is looking for a kimura but he's never going to get it from there.
Potapkin prevents Sinfuego from standing back up.

Potapkin wants to work for an arm triangle but Sinfuego is really keeping half guard well and defending the submission attempt.
The crowd are loving this. Great action here.

Potapkin is thinking about going for an arm triangle but he can't free his leg.

Potapkin is looking for an arm triangle, whilst trying to pass to side control. Sinfuego doesn't seem that keen to cooperate though. No luck this time Potapkin.

That's three minutes gone in the round.
Sinfuego is not content to let Potapkin control the position.
Sinfuego is trying to stand.
Sinfuego is using up a lot of energy trying to get back to his feet. Perhaps he should improve his position first.

Potapkin is looking for a kimura. It's going to be difficult to finish that from half guard though and Sinfuego defends it well.

Potapkin is working for a kimura but Sinfuego is defending it quite comfortably.
We get told so often about how wrestlers don't like to be on their backs. Let's see if Sinfuego can do anything to dispel that myth.

Potapkin seems to be looking for submissions.

Sinfuego wants to get back to his feet.

Potapkin decides to stand up and try his luck on the feet.
Sinfuego misses with a combination

and Potapkin counters with a takedown into side control.
Sinfuego is working hard to escape and get back to his feet. After a battle for position, Potapkin asserts his dominance and retains side control.

Potapkin is trying to get an arm triangle but Sinfuego is defending well.
The crowd are loving this. Great action here.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.

Potapkin has an Americana. Sinfuego didn't react quickly enough there and he's in big trouble now! He tries to squirm out but is forced to tap! Potapkin is delighted and gyrates in front of the ring girls. They seem to like the attention - it'll be interesting to see if Potapkin hooks up with any of them at the after show party.

Ladies and gentlemen, after 4:58 of round 1, we have a winner by way of Submission (Americana). Ivan Potapkin!
