Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Nick Cage (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Kratus Pretorian (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). These two fighters really are very evenly matched on the feet - it will be fascinating to see who can assert themselves in that aspect of the fight.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 5 rounds, for the middleweight championship of the world! Introducing the champion to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
4 - 1 - 1, fighting out of Tokyo, Nick Cage! And introducing the challenger to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
5 - 3 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Kratus Pretorian! The judges for this bout are Hirohito Nitta, Yukihiro Yamamoto and Ren Mimura.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Cage closes this distance looking for a takedown but Pretorian circles away. Pretorian stuffs the takedown attempt from Cage. Cage gets slowly back to his feet. Pretorian misses with a double jab
and Cage counters with a single leg into guard. Pretorian didn't expect that. Cage trying to control but Pretorian is working from the bottom. Cage stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Pretorian swivels though and keeps the full guard. Cage stops Pretorian from standing up. Cage throwing strikes from guard but Pretorian blocks nicely. Cage has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission. Pretorian is looking to stand up but Cage isn't so interested in that idea. Cage is intent on slowing down the pace of the fight, simply looking to control. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. If this pace continues, the referee will definitely step in and force a standup.
The referee decides to stand the fighters back up. Cage shoots in for a takedown but Pretorian shows good takedown defense there and keeps this one on the feet. That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Nick Cage. That's going to take a lot out of him.
That's one minute gone in the round. Cage has a takedown stuffed. Pretorian falls off balance throwing a combination
and Cage counters with a nice double leg into half guard. Cage wants to work for an arm triangle but Pretorian is really keeping half guard well and defending the submission attempt.
Neither fighter is being very active at the moment, with Cage in particular looking to stall. Cage throwing shots but they're hitting the canvas more than the man. Pretorian keeping his head moving to avoid the ground and pound. Cage not landing any meaningful shots this time. Cage stops Pretorian from getting back to his feet.
Cage not throwing his punches with enough precision this time. Cage working the head and body with strikes. Cage throwing shots but they're hitting the canvas more than the man. Cage missing with the ground and pound from half guard. Pretorian avoiding damage under a succession of punches from Cage. Cage will need to keep those long limbs tucked in whilst he's on the ground, to prevent any submissions.

Cage controlling the pace. Pretorian tries to kick Cage off but Cage keeps his base steady and stays in half guard. Cage passes the half guard and he's now in mount! Big trouble for Pretorian! The crowd are loving this. Great action here. Cage looking for a guillotine from mount but Pretorian is having none of it. Pretorian tries to buck Cage off but he can't manage it.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Cage with shots to the head and body - Pretorian looks very uncomfortable down there. Cage lands a big elbow. Cage pausing momentarily but resumes with a couple of decent strikes that do a bit of damage. Pretorian is trying to escape but when you're mounted that's not too easy.
Pretorian looks gassed! A nice elbow there by Cage. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Cage landing shots from mount.
Pretorian is rocked! Cage looking to finish here with some ground and pound. He lands one big shot that has Pretorian covering up... and two more big strikes land, forcing the referee to step in and put and end to proceedings! This fight is all over!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 3:49 of round 1, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Nick Cage! Nick Cage retains his middleweight title!
