Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Aapo Mutenia (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Sakon Shima (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Well, I have no idea who's going to take this one!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
2 - 3 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Aapo Mutenia! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Sakon Shima! The judges for this bout are Yasuomi Hirokawa, Yukihiro Shimada and Ren Mimura.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! The fight stays on the outside here - Shima looks like he's thinking about clinching though. A head kick misses from Mutenia. Mutenia avoids the clinch attempt nicely.
A head kick by Shima misses and Mutenia counters with a flying knee. Nice. Shima tries to grapple but his opponent circles and Mutenia counters with a nice body kick.
Mutenia fails with an attempt to clinch.
Shima takes a kick to the side of the head. Shima throws a lazy head kick and Mutenia counters with a head kick. That will keep Shima thinking before he tries any more sloppy attacks! Shima walks forward, straight into a front kick from Mutenia. Shima has a nice red mark on his side after a thudding body kick by Mutenia. Mutenia shoots in looking for a takedown but Shima manages to keep the fight standing, pushing Mutenia's face into the canvas for good measure before circling away.
That's one minute gone in the round. A low kick from Shima misses and Mutenia counters with a flying knee. Nice. Mutenia circles away from the clinch attempt.
Mutenia misses with a half-hearted attempt at a head kick.
Mutenia lands with a kick to the temple. Shima shrugs as if to say "is that all you've got?" Mutenia pulls out of a head kick attempt.

A frustrated look appears on Mutenia's face as he tries to break the clinch. Mutenia stalling in the clinch but Shima improves position. Mutenia decides to pull guard. Shima in full guard, throwing the ground and pound. No damage this time. Shima throwing strikes but missing. Shima stops Mutenia from standing up.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Shima wanted to stand there but Mutenia had control of the position. Mutenia wants to get back to his feet but Shima is in a dominant position and won't allow it. Mutenia wants to sweep here but Shima controlling him for the moment. Mutenia keeping moving, preventing Shima from controlling successfully. Mutenia is looking for a triangle but Shima pushes his legs off easily.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Mutenia is breathing heavily. Mutenia keeping full guard, as Shima tries to pass.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Shima thows a big elbow that misses. Shima must be cautious of submissions here, given that his opponent has the superior Jiu Jitsu. Shima with a couple of shots to the head there. Not particularly brutal. Shima missing there with some ground and pound from the guard. Shima won't allow Mutenia to sweep him here. Shima connects with a couple of short punches. Mutenia preventing the ground and pound from doing any damage. Mutenia trying to control the position.
Shima postures up to throw the ground and pound strikes but they don't connect. Shima got a little sloppy there for a moment and Mutenia has worked his way into a loose triangle - can he finish it?! No, Shima has managed to get both his arms back between Mutenia's legs - danger averted. Shima sitting in guard here, content to control.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Shima thows a big elbow that misses. Shima postures up and lands some nice ground and pound. Shima throwing strikes from guard but Mutenia blocks nicely. Shima content to strike from guard, landing some decent shots. Shima stands up from guard. Let's bang! A head kick misses from Shima. The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end. Shima gets to the clinch - let's see what his plan is here. Shima tries a knee to the head but Mutenia blocks it.

Aapo Mutenia dominated that round. The fighters' corners scream their final instructions, as the referee calls time. Here we go, back to the action!
Shima throws a body kick despite being completely out of range and Mutenia counters with a head kick. A momentary lapse in concentration from Mutenia enables Shima to shoot in and score with a neat double leg. Mutenia manages to secure a closed guard as the fighters hit the mat. Shima throws and elbow that misses. Mutenia uses the momentum to reverse the position. He's now in Shima's guard. Nice move by Mutenia! Shima is adopting a defensive guard. Mutenia wants to pass the guard but Shima is keeping the position. Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.
That's one minute gone in the round. Mutenia slips nicely into half guard. Mutenia seems to be taking a bit of a break to think of his next move. He lands a short punch in the meantime. Shima looking for submissions off his back. Mutenia tries to pass to full mount but Shima defends it. We get told so often about how wrestlers don't like to be on their backs. Let's see if Shima can do anything to dispel that myth.
That's two minutes gone in the round. A few boos can be heard. I'm sure they will multiply if the fighters don't pick up the pace. Mutenia trying to control from half guard but Shima is working away. Shima is looking to regain full guard. Not this time though. Mutenia is just content to waste time from the top position. Shima takes advantage of the situation and regains full guard.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Mutenia trying to control the position from guard on top but Shima is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can. Shima really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Mutenia. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out. Mutenia is trying to work a guillotine from the top, or something like that? Don't know how he thinks he's going to get a finish from there. Shima working a defensive guard but Mutenia passes into half guard.

That's four minutes gone in the round. The crowd are getting on the fighters' backs, as the pace has dropped off in the last minute or so. Shima is looking to escape. Mutenia trying to control from half guard but Shima is working away. Shima is trying to escape back to his feet but Mutenia uses the scramble to pass into side control.
Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out! Mutenia tries to stand but Shima is controlling his head. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
That was a close second round but I would say that Aapo Mutenia will probably get the nod. The fighters' corners scream their final instructions, as the referee calls time. Here we go, back to the action! Let's get this one finished - here comes the final round!
Mutenia fails in his attempt to clinch. Shima fails with the takedown. Shima tries to clinch up. Mutenia stuffs the takedown attempt from Shima. Shima gets slowly back to his feet. Mutenia leaves Shima with his face pressed against the mat as he sprawls beautifully, defending against a solid takedown attempt. Aapo Mutenia has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Sakon Shima. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Shima takes a head kick and shrugs it off.
Shima takes a big intake of breath there - he's definitely tired. Shima tries to clinch there but Mutenia circles away.

An uppercut on the inside fails to land for Shima. Mutenia pushes off and fires off an elbow that misses, before clinching up again, against the cage. Shima jumps guard but his hands slip and he falls flat on his back. Well, he's made himself look a right mug there, as Mutenia walks away with a smile on his face. Shima gets slowly back to his feet and shakes his head. Mutenia pulls out of a head kick attempt.
Shima throws a lazy head kick and Mutenia counters with a flying knee. Nice. Mutenia tries a switch kick but it misses it's target. Mutenia misses with a head kick.
Shima takes a head kick and shrugs it off.
Aapo Mutenia is fighting for a decision here - he's started to take the cautious approach. It really doesn't seem like the step up in weight is hurting Mutenia here at all. He's more than holding his own against the bigger man.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Shima tries to clinch but Mutenia is having none of it. Mutenia throws a nice head kick!

Shima throws a leg kick that is checked and Mutenia counters with a head kick. That will keep Shima thinking before he tries any more sloppy attacks! The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here. Mutenia pulls out of a head kick attempt.

That's three minutes gone in the round. Mutenia thows a body kick. Shima tries to catch it but that hurt him. A decent looking body kick lands there for Mutenia. Shima takes a head kick and keeps coming.
Aapo Mutenia is winning the standup battle so far. Mutenia throws a right high kick that is partially blocked by Shima. Shima shoots in for a takedown. "Ole!" shouts Mutenia as he jumps to the side. Mutenia throws a right high kick that is partially blocked by Shima. Sakon Shima seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. Ooooh, nice body kick lands from Mutenia. Shima shrugs it off though. Mutenia tries a switch kick but it misses it's target. Shima takes a head kick and keeps coming.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Mutenia plants his feet and lands a nice head kick! Mutenia pulls out of a head kick attempt.
Mutenia keeps the fight standing with a nice sprawl. Shima takes a kick to the side of the head. Aapo Mutenia is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things. Mutenia connects with a high kick. Mutenia misses with a head kick.

And that's the end of the fight! Aapo Mutenia showed his dominance in that final round. Well I reckon that's a shut out for Mutenia, winning every round. Will the judges agree? They are the ones who matter, even if they are often depressingly incompetent. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
