Coming up we have a featherweight MMA rules bout between Erwin Rodriguez (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Jerry Ferro (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Rodriguez comes to the ring accompanied by My time is NOW!. Jerry Ferro is the more experienced fighter, so let's see if that makes a difference tonight.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the featherweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
5 - 3 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Erwin Rodriguez! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
17 - 14 - 2, fighting out of Tokyo, Jerry Ferro! The judges for this bout are Ren Mimura, Hirohito Nitta and Yukihiro Shimada.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Ferro tries for a takedown but Rodriguez sees it coming a mile off and avoids it easily. Ferro tries to close the distance and clinch but Rodriguez swats him to one side with an open hand palm strike and circles away. Ferro fails with a takedown attempt. Rodriguez throws a looping left and ducks down for a takedown. He's got his arms around Ferro's waist but Ferro gets an underhook and avoids the takedown by throwing Rodriguez off to one side. Rodriguez drops down and drives through with a powerful takedown into guard. The fighters are trapped in the ropes so we're going to have a reposition here. The ref calls for a break and repositions the fighters in the center of the ring. Rodriguez throwing strikes but missing. Ferro looking for a sweep. Not yet Ferro, not yet. Rodriguez pressing down on his opponent's thigh, looking to pass guard. Ferro is keeping the position for now. Ferro looking to sweep here. No luck so far. Rodriguez has to be careful here, sitting in the guard of a superior BJJ player. Rodriguez is trying to work a guillotine from the top, or something like that? Don't know how he thinks he's going to get a finish from there. Ferro is throwing his legs up, looking for submissions. Rodriguez is aware though and is defending well. Ferro is looking for a guillotine. You can't force these things though and Rodriguez defends well.
That's one minute gone in the round. Ferro preventing the ground and pound from doing any damage. Ferro working from the bottom, still in full guard. He's managed to get a loose triangle. Rodriguez doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. Oh but Ferro is tightening it up a little... Rodriguez has to be careful here... He's got his foot tucked under now, this looks tight! Rodriguez reacted too slowly and this one could be over in a matter of seconds! YES! Rodriguez taps out! nice BJJ there by Ferro!
