The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Nakamura closes the distance looking to clinch
and Monuwe cracks him with a counter punch right on the button.

Monuwe is looking to secure an arm. He's managed it! He's pivoting for an armbar - that looks tight! But Nakamura has managed to get out of it and now he's in a dominant position. Nice work from Nakamura!

Monuwe has an omoplata and is looking to use it perhaps as a submission or perhaps to transition. Nakamura is in a bit of discomfort here, but he's managed to free himself and has dived into side control! That didn't work out too well for Monuwe.

Monuwe drops back, looking for a kneebar! Nakamura looks panicked! The fighters roll across the mat, one looking to finish, one looking to escape. Nakamura looks to have wriggled free... Yes, he's got his leg free and he's dived into side control! Good work there from Nakamura!

Monuwe manages to work his way to half guard, despite Nakamura's best efforts.

Monuwe is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive.

Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless.

Nakamura is keen to just control but Monuwe is a slippery customer.

Okaohose Monuwe overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far.
Nakamura tries to stand but can't do so whilst Monuwe controls his leg.

The fighters get back to their feet, the hooter sounds and we're back to the action! So, we enter the final round. Let's see if either fighter can bring us a finish, or whether we're going to the judges scorecards.

Monuwe wants to take his opponent's back but Nakamura doesn't allow it.
We get told so often about how wrestlers don't like to be on their backs. Let's see if Nakamura can do anything to dispel that myth.
Monuwe is working on an americana here. Ooh, that looks pretty nasty! Nope, Nakamura has managed to escape the submission attempt.

Monuwe swings around for an armbar but it's a sloppy attempt and Nakamura is now in Monuwe's guard. A big mistake from Monuwe there, giving up the dominant position!
