The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Washington feints and as Boy raises his hands in defense, Washington changes levels and drives through with a takedown into guard.
Boy controls Washington momentarily but Washington frees himself.
Washington works over Boy with some ground and pound from guard.
Boy is throwing his legs up, looking for submissions. Washington is aware though and is defending well.
Boy looking for submissions off his back, moving his hips, looking for an opening.
Boy is working from a closed guard but he's struggling to control his opponent.
Boy looking for a sweep. Not yet Boy, not yet.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Boy utilising some decent striking defenses from the guard, preventing the ground and pound.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Washington won't allow Boy to sweep him here.

Washington thows a big elbow that misses.
Washington has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission.
Washington is breathing heavily.
Boy looking to hit a scissor sweep but Washington is one step ahead there.
Boy manages to land a sweep and now he's in mount on top!

Boy lands a big shot there that rocks Washington but he's holding on and managing to survive for now.
