Coming up we have a featherweight MMA rules bout between Chris White (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Aleksandr Kotlyar (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Kotlyar has chosen P.I.M.P. as his entrance music. Man, I cannot wait for this one!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the featherweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 2 - 0 - 0, fighting out of New York, Chris White!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 1 - 1 - 0, fighting out of New York, Aleksandr Kotlyar!
The judges for this bout are Steve Montenegro, Alyssa Summers and David Schapiro.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Kotlyar throws a push kick but White slaps the foot to one side.
Kotlyar wants to clinch
and White counters with a lovely straight right hand!

White keeping a good distance there, avoiding the body shot.

Kotlyar is trying to control White's posture but White avoids it.

Kotlyar is not in a great position here, taking some shots.
White really does look like a pencil wearing a pair of gloves. Let's hope he has a gameplan to suit that ridiculous body shape.

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

The two fighters exchange a few words. I couldn't hear what they were saying but maybe it's more fun if you make it up yourself. White connects with a nice short shot to Kotlyar's temple.

Kotlyar escapes his hips to the side and looks to be working for an armbar. White gives him a little smile and shakes his head. No chance.
White is working Kotlyar over from the guard. He should look to pass the guard and do a little more damage with these strikes.

Kotlyar has a loose triangle. He'll be looking to tighten that up but White can see exactly what he's planning and manages to posture up and free himself.

White tries to stand but can't do so whilst Kotlyar controls his leg.

The crowd are showing their displeasure at the lack of action as loud boos ring out around the arena.

Chris White overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far.

White has his opponent pinned against the cage, landing some nasty ground and pound that is really making a bit of a mess out of Kotlyar's face.

Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it.

The minute break is over - no more time for sponges and pep talks - back to the action! So, we enter the final round. Let's see if either fighter can bring us a finish, or whether we're going to the judges scorecards.


Kotlyar throws a jab, cross combination which is slipped

and White counters with a nice shoot takedown that brings the fighters to the ground.

White drops back looking for a leg! Kotlyar is in trouble here! The fighters roll with the hold and Kotlyar manages to kick White off! White jumps back into Kotlyar's guard.
White will need to keep those long limbs tucked in whilst he's on the ground, to prevent any submissions.
White lands a nice shot whilst sitting in his opponent's guard.

White stands up over Kotlyar, holding his feet. He dives back in and lands a decent shot to the head.

White got a little sloppy there for a moment and Kotlyar has worked his way into a loose triangle - can he finish it?! No, White has managed to get both his arms back between Kotlyar's legs - danger averted.

Kotlyar had isolated an arm as going for a kimura. White defends it easily.

Kotlyar is looking for a guillotine. You can't force these things though and White defends well.

Kotlyar is throwing his legs up, looking for submissions. White is aware though and is defending well.
Aleksandr Kotlyar has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here!

My god... these two guys really need to pick up the pace or everyone will leave to go get a beer.
Kotlyar has momentary wrist control but White slips an elbow through the middle.
Kotlyar bucks up whilst keeping hold of a body lock, managing to reverse the position. Now he's in top in White's guard.
Kotlyar trying to pass the guard but can't manage it just yet.
White utilising some decent striking defenses from the guard, preventing the ground and pound.
White is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive.
Kotlyar stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. White swivels though and keeps the full guard.
White wants to stand and escape but Kotlyar is having none of it.

Kotlyar is holding a leg here, probably looking for an ankle lock - he drops back and goes for it! White is in trouble! Is it all over??? No! White has escaped and now he's on top!
Kotlyar should think about turning a few of those tyres round his middle into muscle if he wants people to take him seriously as an athlete.
Kotlyar not looking particularly offensive just at the moment.

Kotlyar is working the butterfly guard. He manages to land a nice scissor sweep and is now in half guard on the top. Nice move.

Kotlyar is looking for a kimura but White is holding onto that half guard position, so it's hard for Kotlyar to get the leverage.

That was a close round. You could make an argument for either fighter but I would give it to Chris White.
Well White has outscored his opponent in every aspect of the fight today. Only a scarily incompetent judge or two will keep him from a well deserved win... Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
