Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Josh Kos (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Aaron Garnett (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Garnett has chosen Till I Collapse as his entrance music, which hasn't gone down very well with the crowd. Aaron Garnett told me before the fight that he's been watching a lot of DVDs so let's see if that helps him in this one! I can't wait to find out!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of New York, Josh Kos! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
4 - 3 - 0, fighting out of New York, Aaron Garnett! The judges for this bout are Dean Styles, Russell Pearce and Columbo Gatti.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Kos shoots and misses and Garnett counters with a crisp hook to the side of the head. Garnett takes the fight into the clinch. Garnett slowing the pace effectively. Kos tries to pull guard but Garnett won't allow it.
Kos drops to a knee looking for a takedown but Garnett gets the underhooks and prevents it.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Josh Kos. That's going to take a lot out of him. A body shot lands from Garnett.

We all know that wrestlers don't like being on their back so let's see if Kos tries to get out of the position. Garnett wants to control from the top but Kos keeps moving. Garnett throwing strikes but missing. Garnett forces his way into half guard. Garnett wants to pass to mount but Kos is defending the position.
That's two minutes gone in the round. The crowd are getting on the fighters' backs, as the pace has dropped off in the last minute or so. Garnett controlling the action here. Garnett misses with a head shot. Kos uses the momentum to regain guard. Garnett landing with the ground and pound. Garnett is looking to work some ground and pound but Kos has wrist control. Garnett stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Kos swivels though and keeps the full guard. Garnett is working the ground and pound from guard. He might want to try advancing position though to get more of an impact.

Kos wants to stand but Garnett is controlling the position. Kos knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Garnett on the ground. Kos keeping moving, preventing Garnett from controlling successfully. Garnett has the superior BJJ but he's also working some ground strikes into his gameplan. Garnett content to stall in guard here. The referee claps his hands together and tells the fighters to work.

That's four minutes gone in the round. The crowd are hurling abuse towards the fighters... You can hardly blame them though because there isn't a lot going on in the fight. Kos throws a jab, cross combination which is slipped
and Garnett counters with a takedown into full mount! That could mean trouble for Kos! Garnett scores with a couple of good head shots there.

The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end. Garnett pausing momentarily but resumes with a couple of decent strikes that do a bit of damage. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

and Garnett decides to take the opportunity to score a takedown. He's landed in Kos's guard. Garnett stands up over Kos, holding his feet. He dives back in and lands a decent shot to the head. Garnett wants to control from the top but Kos keeps moving. Kos wants to get back to his feet but he's too absorbed in his own little project and Garnett manages to pass to side control. Garnett is keeping good posture, landing some ground and pound. Garnett lands a big shot. The thud that echoes around the arena is like music to the fans' ears. Aaron Garnett has got the better of the ground game so far. Kos has no desire to be mounted, so is trying to control. Garnett is working away from the top position though. Garnett seems very keen to just sit and control from half guard but Kos does not like that idea so much and is remaining active off his back. Garnett stops Kos from getting back to his feet.

Garnett sneaks a leg through and gets to half guard. That was like a knife through butter how easily he passed Kos's guard. Garnett passes the half guard and he's now in mount! Big trouble for Kos! Garnett with shots to the head and body - Kos looks very uncomfortable down there. Garnett postures up and cracks his opponent a couple of times before moving back into close ground control. Kos looks a forlorn figure.

Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd. Garnett with a couple of short strikes. Kos is looking to get to half guard. Garnett lands a nice shot to the head. As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action. Garnett cracks Kos with a nasty head shot there - the crowd let out an audible gasp there, as the noise reverberated around the arena.

Garnett got a little sloppy there for a moment and Kos has worked his way into a loose triangle - can he finish it?! No, Garnett has managed to get both his arms back between Kos's legs - danger averted. Kos working a defensive guard here.

OK we're going to have a standup here. Aaron Garnett hasn't been effective enough on the ground and the referee wants a restart. Garnett feints and then dives in with a takedown. That was a long way out but the feint bought him enough time to close the distance and complete the takedown. Now we'll play guard for a bit and see who can get the better of that position. Garnett showing good wrestling skills to control the position. Garnett wants to control from the top but Kos keeps moving. Garnett works a leg free and moves into half guard. Garnett is trying to control. Kos wants to improve his position but can't escape this time.

Garnett is landing with some decent strikes but Kos is trying to advance his position so the referee is letting the fight continue. Garnett has been the more effective fighter overall so far. That's four minutes gone in the round. Kos bucks up and manages to get a nice reversal! He's in guard on the top - nicely done! Both fighters are breathing heavily. Garnett wriggles free and stands up. Aaron Garnett is fighting for a decision here - he's started to take the cautious approach. Kos fails with the takedown and Garnett counters with a straight right hand. Kos with a lazy takedown attempt and Garnett makes him pay by landing a nice hook to the body before moving out of range. Kos throws a right hand that misses
and Garnett decides to take the opportunity to score a takedown. He's landed in Kos's guard. We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out! Garnett is frustrating his opponent with some stalling tactics from top position. As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.
And that's the end of the fight! Aaron Garnett comfortably won the final round on my scorecard. Well Garnett has outworked and out performed his opponent in all aspects of the game today. He was simply too good and the decision should be no more than a formality. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
