Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Is Ku Kone (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Ippo Makunouchi (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). The atmosphere really building for this one as we go over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
1 - 3 - 0, fighting out of New York, Is Ku Kone! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
0 - 2 - 0, fighting out of New York, Ippo Makunouchi! The judges for this bout are Joseph Jones, Dean Styles and Chad Campbell.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Kone shoots in looking for a single leg takedown. Makunouchi is trying to defend but Kone finishes it well and ends up in half guard. Let's see if he can advance position further. We could do with one of the fighters taking the initiative a bit more on the ground - they're both waiting to capitalize on a mistake. Makunouchi wants to improve his position but Kone is controlling well.
Makunouchi avoiding damage under a succession of punches from Kone. Kone moves nicely into side control. Makunouchi managing to avoid any damage from the strikes thrown by Kone.
A bit of a lull in the action. I'm sure it will pick up again soon... even if the ref has to physically pick them up and put them back on their feet. Kone stands up. Makunouchi gets a clinch.
That's one minute gone in the round. Makunouchi breaks the clinch.
Makunouchi clinches up against the cage. Kone has hold of a leg and is looking for a trip takedown. Makunouchi avoids it nicely though and we remain in the clinch. Makunouchi gets control of Kone's arms and successfully pulls guard. Makunouchi will no doubt be looking for submissions off his back. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Kone is intent on slowing down the pace of the fight, simply looking to control. Makunouchi looking to hit a scissor sweep but Kone is one step ahead there. Kone wants to pass the guard but Makunouchi is keeping the position. Makunouchi preventing the ground and pound from doing any damage. Kone has to be careful here, sitting in the guard of a superior BJJ player.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Kone wanted to stand there but Makunouchi had control of the position. Kone seems content to control from guard here. He's going to have to remain active though if he doesn't want to get stood back up. It looks like the ref is thinking about a standup.
The ref stands the fighters back up. Is Ku Kone wasn't doing enough on the ground. A low kick from Makunouchi misses and Kone counters into the clinch. Nicely done. Makunouchi tries to pull guard but can't drag his opponent to the mat. Kone just stands there and leans against the cage. Makunouchi working hard to break the clinch. Makunouchi fails to pull the fight into his guard.
Kone breaks the clinch and we're back to striking at distance.
Kone tries to shoot in for a takedown. He's got hold of a leg but Makunouchi swivels and escapes. Makunouchi slaps away a takedown attempt from Kone, before circling back to the center of the mat. That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Is Ku Kone. That's going to take a lot out of him. Makunouchi will need to tighten up his combinations if he doesn't want to gas himself out, swinging at thin air.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Makunouchi closes the distance and pushes Kone back into the cage. Kone pushes off and circles away, back to the middle of the mat. Kone swings away but doesn't land with a series of punches.
Makunouchi shoots in but doesn't get the takedown and Kone counters with a takedown into full mount! That could mean trouble for Makunouchi! Kone controlling from mount. Kone with a couple of short strikes. Kone looking to control but Makunouchi is working nicely, looking to advance position himself. Makunouchi taking shots to the head.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Kone controlling from the full mount. The fighters are starting to get a bit slippery now, which will make submissions a bit more difficult. Makunouchi wants to control but Kone is having none of it. Kone working away from the top, dropping strikes. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Kone putting on the heat here with some good ground and pound! Makunouchi is looking to get to half guard. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Is Ku Kone dominated that round. That's the end of the round. The referee orders the cornermen out of the cage so we can get back down to business.
Kone tries to clinch up against the cage, rushing in the close the distance. Makunouchi manages to break the clinch and circles back to the middle of the mat. Makunouchi moves into the clinch successfully.
Makunouchi tries to pull guard but can't drag his opponent to the mat. Kone just stands there and leans against the cage. The referee calls for Makunouchi to work.
Kone lands a knee to the head.
Kone has Makunouchi pressed up against the cage. He's trying to work for a single leg takedown. Kone pulls back from the cage and twists to the side, sending Makunouchi tumbling to the mat - Kone dives into Makunouchi's guard. Makunouchi keeping full guard, as Kone tries to pass. Kone preventing the sweep. Makunouchi keeping moving, preventing Kone from controlling successfully.
That's one minute gone in the round. Kone controlling from the guard. I say controlling but really, he's stalling.
The ref stands the fighters back up. Is Ku Kone wasn't doing enough on the ground. Makunouchi displays good takedown defense there as he swats away a double leg from Kone. Makunouchi throws a right hand that Kone ducks under and follows up with a left that Kone also avoids with ease.
That's two minutes gone in the round. A lull in the action here being met with boos from the crowd. Makunouchi lands a jab-cross combination. Kone throws a jab, cross combination which is slipped
and Makunouchi counters with a good low kick that Kone was not able to check. Is Ku Kone is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things. Kone looks shocked there as he takes a right hand to the temple. Kone shoots in for a takedown. He's persisting with it as Makunouchi sprawls well. Makunouchi wins this battle and keeps the fight standing. Kone gets slowly back to his feet. Makunouchi throws a left and a right that both miss
and Kone holds on and brings the fighters into a clinch. Kone has Makunouchi pressed against the cage.
Kone wants a takedown.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Is Ku Kone. That's going to take a lot out of him. Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here. Kone throws a vicious knee straight up the middle but Makunouchi blocks it with crossed arms. Makunouchi gets underhooks to prevent Kone's takedown attempt.
Makunouchi gets control of Kone's arms and successfully pulls guard. Makunouchi will no doubt be looking for submissions off his back. Kone missing there with some ground and pound from the guard. Makunouchi trying to keep a closed guard but Kone is proving a slippery customer.

Neither fighter is doing enough for the referee's liking and he's decided to stand them back up. Makunouchi has Kone up against the cage in a clinch.
Makunouchi stalling in the clinch but Kone improves position. Kone is trying to slow down the pace in the clinch, to catch his breath. Makunouchi is trying to slow down the pace of the fight but Kone is keeping busy. Makunouchi throws a hook to the body. More of an arm punch but it's all scoring with the judges.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Makunouchi jumps guard and drags Kone to the mat. He's obviously going to be looking for submissions off his back. Kone won't allow Makunouchi to get back to his feet. Kone seems content to control from guard here. He's going to have to remain active though if he doesn't want to get stood back up. Kone trying to control the position from guard on top but Makunouchi is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can. Kone wants to get up but he can't break Makunouchi's closed guard. He needs to be careful trying to break the legs open, as he's open to submissions here. Kone slows down the pace of the fight for a moment. He'll need to remain active if he doesn't want to see the fight stood back up. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
A close second round but Ippo Makunouchi will probably get the nod - 10:9. Well, the break between rounds is over. Let's get back to the scrappin! So, we enter the final round. Let's see if either fighter can bring us a finish, or whether we're going to the judges scorecards.
Makunouchi pushes Kone up against the cage in a clinch. Makunouchi throws a blind hook that connects with the side of Kones head. Kone breaks from the clinch.
Makunouchi darts in and clinches Kone up against the cage. Kone stalling in the clinch but Makunouchi improves position. Makunouchi lands a nice looking hook to the body, against the cage. Kone tries to land a knee to the head but misses.
Makunouchi has had enough of the clinch but Kone keeps him there for the moment. Makunouchi decides to pull guard. Makunouchi not looking particularly offensive just at the moment.
Makunouchi manages to land a sweep and now he's in mount on top!
Kone is trying to escape the mount.
Both fighters are breathing heavily.
That's one minute gone in the round. Makunouchi working away from the top, dropping strikes. Makunouchi in mount throwing good strikes here, bouncing his opponent's head off the canvas.
Makunouchi looking to ground and pound his opponent to a finish here.
The referee warns Kone that he has to improve his position here as he takes two more clean shots to the head.
Kone tries to hold on but Makunouchi pushes him away. Makunouchi with good strikes from the mount here! That's two minutes gone in the round. Makunouchi lands a big shot there that rocks Kone but he's holding on and managing to survive for now.
Makunouchi trying to control but Kone is having none of it. We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out! Kone taking shots to the head. Kone in a bad spot here, taking shots to the head. Makunouchi with the ground and pound from mount. Makunouchi looking to finish Kone with some ground and pound. This is bad for Kone! Makunouchi with good strikes from the mount here! Makunouchi landing punches. Kone is writhing around trying to get back to his feet. Is Ku Kone overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far. Makunouchi postures up and cracks his opponent a couple of times before moving back into close ground control. Kone looks a forlorn figure.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Makunouchi raining down shots from the mount! Makunouchi lands with some strikes. Makunouchi can't quite control the action as he would like just now, as Kone is looking to escape. Kone wants to hold on but Makunouchi pushes him away. The crowd growing excited in anticipation of a finish here! Right on cue, Makunouchi cracks his opponent with a massive right hand that draws loud cheers!

Makunouchi landing strikes from the mount and Kone is in trouble! Kone on his back here. We all know that wrestlers don't like being on their back so let's see if Kone tries to get out of the position.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Kone really wants to buck Makunouchi off and get back to his feet. Makunouchi lands a couple of nice shots there from mount.

The crowd growing excited in anticipation of a finish here! Right on cue, Makunouchi cracks his opponent with a massive right hand that draws loud cheers!
Makunouchi prevents Kone from getting the reversal. The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end. Kone is working hard here to advance position.
And that's the end of the fight! Ippo Makunouchi comfortably won the final round on my scorecard. Well Makunouchi has outworked and out performed his opponent in all aspects of the game today. He was simply too good and the decision should be no more than a formality. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
