Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of St Petersburg, Richard Reynolds! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
3 - 0 - 0, fighting out of St Petersburg, Drew Skeet! The judges for this bout are Ivan Kurochkin, Fedor Mirinova and Valeri Chadov.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Reynolds misses with an uppercut. Skeet saw that one coming. Richard Reynolds seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. Reynolds shoots in but doesn't get the takedown and Skeet counters with a lovely straight right hand! Skeet avoids a kick to the body.
Reynolds misses with a takedown attempt - Skeet sprawls well and throws a nice strike on the way out which just misses. Reynolds throws a lazy uppercut
enabling Skeet to counter with a crisp jab.
It looks like Richard Reynolds has been cut. A telegraphed right hand from Reynolds misses the target. A jab from Skeet misses. Reynolds misses with a two punch combination.
Skeet misses with a left hand and Reynolds counters with a quick right hand to the jaw. Reynolds tries to clinch but Skeet moves away letting Skeet counter with a right hand. We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out! Skeet sends Reynolds crashing to the mat with a devastating uppercut! Skeet is motioning to the referee to let Reynolds up. He wants to try and finish this one on the feet!
Reynolds is rocked! Reynolds thuds a left hand into Skeet's body. Oh Reynolds is still all over the place! His legs are completely gone! Will he be able to recover?!! Reynolds swinging wildly here.
Reynolds seems to have got his legs back now. Reynolds misses with a hook
and Skeet counters with a stiff right hand. Reynolds lands with a straight right. Skeet didn't see that one coming. Reynolds throws a jab, cross combination which is slipped
and Skeet counters with a shot to the ribs. That looked like it hurt. Reynolds is breathing heavily.
That's one minute gone in the round. Reynolds misses with an uppercut
and Skeet counters with a nice right hand that sends Reynolds toppling to the canvas! Reynolds scrambles and gets back to his feet - can Skeet finish him?! Skeet missing with a left hand there. Reynolds was out of range so wasted energy throwing that one. Reynolds misses the shot to the body. Reynolds pulls out of a head kick attempt.
Reynolds leaves his chin hanging out and Skeet seizes the opportunity with an uppercut! Reynolds crumbles to the floor in a heap! The referee steps in and tends to the downed fighter! What a knockout!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 1:26 of round 1, we have a winner by way of KO (Punch). Drew Skeet!
