Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Frankie Murdock (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Butter Sweet (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Sweet has chosen Knock Out as his entrance music, which hasn't gone down very well with the crowd. Both these guys have solid standup skills and neither is particularly fantastic on the ground, so let's hope for a nice standup war!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

The judges for this bout are Columbo Gatti, Lou da Vinci and John Roberts.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
A jab from Sweet misses.
Murdock shoots in looking for a takedown. Sweet tries to sprawl out of it but Murdock keeps driving through. The fighters are pinned against the cage. Sweet manages to get underhooks and after a bit of a struggle, circles away and we're back to standing.
Murdock takes a big uppercut there. He seems a bit wobbly but no, he's OK.
Sweet lands with an overhand left.
Sweet jabs at Murdock's body.
This has been an exciting period of action!
Sweet swings wildly with a couple of big hooks
and Murdock counters with a shoot takedown into half guard.
Murdock is breathing heavily.
Sweet tries to kick Murdock off but Murdock keeps his base steady and stays in half guard.
Sweet pushes Murdock off and gets back to his feet.
Sweet lands a jab. Then a cross. Then finally a nice hook to the body. Good work there by Sweet.
It looks like Frankie Murdock has been cut.

Sweet swings for the body but Murdock moves out of range.
Sweet throws a series of punches but Murdock moves out of range.
Sweet falls off balance throwing a combination
and Murdock counters with a nice shoot takedown that brings the fighters to the ground.
Sweet wants to stand and escape but Murdock is having none of it.
Sweet is wriggling around but Murdock manages to pass to half guard.
Murdock throwing shots but they're hitting the canvas more than the man.

Sweet makes some distance and scrambles quickly back to his feet. Nice work!
Sweet misses the body punch
and Murdock counters by moving into the clinch.
Murdock pulls guard successfully.
Murdock is working from a closed guard but he's struggling to control his opponent.

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

The referee decides to stand the fighters back up, due to lack of activity on the part of Frankie Murdock.
Sweet lands a nice leg kick that just misses Murdock's sensitive parts.
Sweet feints with a jab and clips Murdock right behind the ear with a massive overhand right! Murdock is sent crashing into the canvas and Sweet leaps in for the kill! Murdock tries to get to his feet but Sweet is just battering him from every conceivable angle. The ref decides that Murdock is in need of a savior and steps in!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 3:30 of round 1, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Butter Sweet!
