Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Taisto Tappura (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Alexandrovich Fyodor (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Fyodor has chosen The Last Emperor as his entrance music. These two fighters really are very evenly matched on the feet - it will be fascinating to see who can assert themselves in that aspect of the fight.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Tappura misses with a lunging right hand
and Tappura takes a counter punch right on the button for his troubles.

Fyodor shoots in from a long way out. He's driving through with the takedown attempt and he eventually gets it, landing in Tappura's guard.

Fyodor gets cracked there but stands up to it.

and Fyodor counters with a shoot takedown. Tappura fights it but they end up in guard.
Fyodor tries to free his leg and advance position but Tappura is retaining full guard.
Tappura will have to put a bit more behind his punches if he's going to do any damage from this position.
Fyodor must be cautious of submissions here, given that his opponent has the superior Jiu Jitsu.
A real slowdown in the pace of the fight for a moment, as Tappura holds on and takes a little breather.

Fyodor wants to stand but Tappura is controlling his posture from full guard.

Tappura pulls Fyodor in close to his closed guard and prevents Fyodor from doing any damage or advancing position.

Tappura throws a hook to the side of Fyodor's head but Fyodor sees it coming and ducks under it beautifully.

Tappura stuffs the takedown attempt from Fyodor. Fyodor gets slowly back to his feet.
Taisto Tappura has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Alexandrovich Fyodor.

Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.

That was a close round but I would say that Taisto Tappura will probably get the nod.

We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!

Tappura throws a hook to the side of Fyodor's head but Fyodor sees it coming and ducks under it beautifully.
Tappura drops Fyodor with a hook right on the temple. He thinks about going to the ground but Fyodor looks back up at him and smiles so Tappura waves him back to his feet - he obviously thinks he can knock him out after that shot landed.
Tappura is moving around nicely and scores here with a single head shot.
Fyodor is rocked!
Tappura walks forward and throws a big overhand right! Fyodor drops to the floor like a sack of potatoes! Tappura swarms on him with more punches until the referee wrestles him away from Fyodor's unconscious body! Wow, that was brutal!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 3:44 of round 2, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Taisto Tappura!
