Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between John Long (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Ryan Prevost (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Ryan Prevost is staring across the cage at his opponent, tweaking his nipples.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
1 - 3 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, John Long! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Ryan Prevost! The judges for this bout are Steve Smith, Robert Douchet and Yves DeLean.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Long tries for a takedown but Prevost sees it coming a mile off and avoids it easily. Nice sprawl there from Prevost as Long shoots in. Long shoots in for a takedown. "Ole!" shouts Prevost as he jumps to the side. That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for John Long. That's going to take a lot out of him. Long shoots in and drives through. Prevost sprawls well. Prevost slips a jab and a cross from Long.

and Long holds on and brings the fighters into a clinch. Prevost wants to get back to striking at distance but Long won't allow it.
Long tries to jump guard but he falls flat on his backside. Prevost smiles and moves away.
Prevost stuffs the takedown attempt from Long. Long gets slowly back to his feet. Some wild striking there from Prevost.
Long will have to do better than that with his takedown attempts. Prevost moves in looking to clinch but Long pushes him off. Prevost darts in trying to clinch and Long counters with a nice shoot takedown that brings the fighters to the ground.
That's one minute gone in the round. Long wants to control from the top but Prevost keeps moving. Prevost is looking to stand up but Long isn't so interested in that idea. Long thinks about going for a leg but decides against it, in order to maintain the position. Long throwing strikes but missing. Prevost wants to stand but Long is controlling the position.
That's two minutes gone in the round. My god... these two guys really need to pick up the pace or everyone will leave to go get a beer. Long sneaks a leg through and gets to half guard. That was like a knife through butter how easily he passed Prevost's guard. Long wants to work for an arm triangle but Prevost is really keeping half guard well and defending the submission attempt.
Long is breathing heavily. Long seems to be looking for submissions.
Prevost is trying to stand.
Long seems very keen to just sit and control from half guard but Prevost does not like that idea so much and is remaining active off his back. Prevost tries to kick Long off but Long keeps his base steady and stays in half guard. Prevost is trying to escape back to his feet but Long uses the scramble to pass into side control.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Long wants to control but Prevost is keeping him busy. Prevost is putting a lot of effort into getting back to his feet here. Prevost is using up a lot of energy trying to get back to his feet. Perhaps he should improve his position first.
The referee has ruled that neither fighter is active enough on the ground and has stood them back up. Prevost cracks Long with a right hand to the side of the head. A solid body kick from Long. Long shoots for a takedown but Prevost saw that one coming a mile off and avoided it easily. Good work by Long as he checks the leg kick. Prevost throws a body kick despite being completely out of range and Long counters with a nice double leg into guard. Long throws a big right hand that misses.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Long is pushing down on Prevost's leg trying to pass to half guard. Prevost is fighting to maintain full guard but Long has managed to sneak the leg through. Long not landing any meaningful shots this time. Long moves into full mount! Prevost won't be happy about that! Prevost is squirming around, avoiding Long's attempts to control the action. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
John Long dominated that round. The minute break is over - no more time for sponges and pep talks - back to the action!
Prevost gets taken down but at least he's managed to land in guard. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Long slows down the pace of the fight, as he sits in guard. Long scores with a decent looking elbow strike. Long thinks about going for a leg but decides against it, in order to maintain the position. Long slips nicely into half guard. We get told so often about how wrestlers don't like to be on their backs. Let's see if Prevost can do anything to dispel that myth. Long frees up his trapped foot and advances to mount.
That's one minute gone in the round. Long wants to control the pace but Prevost is squirming around nicely. Prevost is not a happy chappy… he wants out of there.
Prevost is squirming around, avoiding Long's attempts to control the action. Prevost avoids a series of strikes thrown by Long.
Long looks like he's working for a submission but he's not found anything just yet. Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here. Prevost tries to buck Long off but he can't manage it.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it. Long landing strikes from the mount and Prevost is in trouble! Prevost trying desperately to get to his feet.

Long looking to control but Prevost is working nicely, looking to advance position himself. Prevost holding onto his opponent's waist for dear life, as Long tries to land some strikes to get him to release his grip.
Long is working on an americana here. Ooh, that looks pretty nasty! Nope, Prevost has managed to escape the submission attempt.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Long lands a couple of nice shots there from mount.
Long unloads with some shots from mount but Prevost bucks and avoids them well.
Prevost really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Long. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out. Long won't let Prevost get back to his feet... He wants to keep the fight where it is for now. Long thowing strikes but they're hitting the gloves, not doing any damage. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Long throwing sloppy strikes here. Perhaps if he tightened up his striking from such a dominant position, he'd be able to finish easier.
Long sends his fist crashing into the mat - the crowd let out a collective ooooooh. Let's hope he's not broken it!
That's four minutes gone in the round. There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action. Long has hold of Prevost's left arm, perhaps looking for a submission. The two fighters tussle over control of the isolated limb and Prevost manages to get his arm back to his side and away from danger.
Long trying to control but he's not successful this time. Long dominating with strikes here. Long controlling the position easily from mount. Long is still in mount, landing shots to his trapped opponent. Prevost can't stay in a position like this for much longer.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
John Long dominated that second round. The referee calls time. The cornermen exit stage left and we're back to business. This is the final round!
Long moves into range and clinches up with Prevost. Long has Prevost pressed up against the cage and is working for takedown. Prevost manages to improve position though and keeps the fight standing. Long tries to pull guard but can't drag his opponent to the mat. Prevost just stands there and leans against the cage. Prevost has had enough of the clinch but Long keeps him there for the moment. Prevost wants to push off and get back to the center of the mat but Long has him pressed against the cage. Long goes for a takedown in the clinch but Prevost prevents it.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for John Long. That's going to take a lot out of him. Long goes for a takedown attempt but Prevost pushes him away and we're back to fighting at a distance.

Prevost breaks the clinch and we return to the middle of the mat. Prevost keeps the fight standing with a nice sprawl. Prevost tries to bum rush Long with a series of wild strikes but Long uses good footwork to avoid the assault. Long shoots in with a takedown attempt and he has Prevost pinned against the cage. Prevost gets the underhooks and manages to circle away. Prevost attempts a leg kick but it's missed by a good margin. Both fighters are breathing heavily. Long chopping away at his opponent's legs.
That's one minute gone in the round. A nice leg kick lands there from Long. Long misses with a takedown attempt. He shot from a bit too far out. Prevost throws a combination. Long tries to block but a couple of punches get through. Prevost misses with a body shot. Nice footwork from Long.
Prevost throws a body kick, spinning off balance and Long counters with a driving takedown into guard. Nice work there by Long. Long trying to control the position from guard on top but Prevost is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can. Long with a nice head shot there. Long pressing down on his opponent's thigh, looking to pass guard. Prevost is keeping the position for now. John Long overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far. That's two minutes gone in the round. Long passes Prevost's right leg, so he's now in half guard. Long seems like he's working for an arm triangle here. He's freed his trapped foot and he's rotating nicely. Prevost is in big trouble! He's tapping out! This one is aaaaaaaaaaaall over!
