Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
2 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, James Riley! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
0 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Sebastian Fontaine! The judges for this bout are Gwen Towbar, Wesley Smith and Frank Dennis.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Riley shoots in with a takedown attempt and he has Fontaine pinned against the cage. Fontaine gets the underhooks and manages to circle away. Fontaine fails with a takedown attempt from distance. James Riley seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. Riley drops down and drives through with a powerful takedown into guard. Riley postures up to throw the ground and pound strikes but they don't connect. Riley content to strike from guard, landing some decent shots. Riley is working the ground and pound from guard. He might want to try advancing position though to get more of an impact. Riley works over Fontaine with some ground and pound from guard. Riley scores with a decent looking elbow strike. Riley postures up and scores with a shot to the body and a follow up elbow to the head. Riley scoring with punches to the head and body. This has been an exciting period of action! Riley scoring with some ground and pound. Fontaine looks gassed! Riley cracks Fontaine with a solid left hand. Riley with a nice head shot there. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Riley throwing elbows and punches but not connecting, as Fontaine works some decent striking defense from the bottom. Riley working in close now, lands a nice elbow to the side of Fontaine's head. Riley lands a couple of digs.
Fontaine is rocked! Riley lands a couple of decent looking shots. Fontaine is still in real trouble! Can Riley finish him?
That's one minute gone in the round. Riley arches his back and unloads with a massive left and a right! Fontaine's eyes roll back into his head, he's out cold! The ref dives in to stop the fight - wow, they were hard shots!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 1:20 of round 1, we have a winner by way of KO (Strikes). James Riley!
