Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Eugene Canedo (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Andrei Marshall (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Eugene Canedo has the better chin. Will he look to stand and bang today?

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
4 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Eugene Canedo! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
6 - 2 - 1, fighting out of Sydney, Andrei Marshall! The judges for this bout are Steve Erwin, Summer Carpenter and John Mangel.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Canedo throws a body punch but Marshall moves out of range. Marshall moves into the clinch. Canedo misses with a knee to the head. Canedo is working for a takedown up against the cage. He can't get it on this occasion though. Canedo has hold of one of Marshall's legs. Marshall is fighting the takedown attempt but Canedo gets the trip and lands the takedown into guard. Marshall pulls Canedo in close to his closed guard and prevents Canedo from doing any damage or advancing position. Canedo decides to stand up and beckons his opponent to follow. Canedo closes the distance and clinches. Canedo has Marshall pressed up against the cage and is working for takedown. Marshall manages to improve position though and keeps the fight standing. Marshall lands a damaging elbow. Marshall is pressed up against the cage. Canedo has hold of a leg and is looking to drag Marshall down to the mat. Marshall avoids the attempt though and has circled away. We're back to striking at a distance. That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Eugene Canedo. That's going to take a lot out of him. Marshall slips a jab and a cross from Canedo.
Marshall tries to shoot in for a takedown. He's got hold of a leg but Canedo swivels and escapes. Canedo clinches up against the cage. Marshall looking to stall.

Canedo has a body lock and is looking for a takedown. Marshall is bouncing around trying to prevent the takedown and somehow he has indeed managed to stay on his feet. Canedo goes for a takedown attempt but Marshall pushes him away and we're back to fighting at a distance.
Marshall shoots in for a takedown! He's got it and he's managed to land in full mount! That's better than Marshall was expecting from the takedown attempt, I'm sure!
That's one minute gone in the round. Canedo keeping his composure momentarily, calmly looking to get back to half guard.
Marshall throws some wild stikes that Canedo manages to avoid easily.
Marshall scoring with strikes but Canedo is staying in there. Marshall postures up and cracks his opponent a couple of times before moving back into close ground control. Canedo looks a forlorn figure.
Canedo is bucking up trying to escape but Marshall cracks him with another couple of good strikes. The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so! Marshall goes for an armbar but he's fallen flat on his backside there and now Canedo is on top in guard.

That's two minutes gone in the round. Canedo in full guard, throwing the ground and pound. No damage this time. Canedo gets to his feet and steps away from his opponent. Canedo looks to score with a combo but nothing lands. Canedo throws a jab, cross combination which is slipped
and Marshall holds on and brings the fighters into a clinch. Marshall looking for a takedown. Canedo is trying to force a seperation but Marshall has the dominant position. Canedo pulls guard. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Canedo keeping busy, throwing shots from the bottom. Marshall advances to half guard. Marshall throwing punches and elbows but they're not doing any damage. The fighters are starting to perspire pretty heavily. Marshall with the ground and pound but Canedo uses the opportunity to regain guard. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Canedo is breathing heavily.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Marshall throwing elbows and punches but not connecting, as Canedo works some decent striking defense from the bottom. Marshall postures up in Canedo's guard and throws a big left but Canedo blocks it. Marshall working some ground and pound from guard but it's not doing any damage. Marshall trying to land body shots but he keeps hitting the mat. Marshall is working Canedo over from the guard. He should look to pass the guard and do a little more damage with these strikes. Canedo is looking to stand up but Marshall isn't so interested in that idea. Marshall throwing shots from guard but he's hitting more mat than opponent. Marshall throwing elbows and punches but not connecting, as Canedo works some decent striking defense from the bottom. Marshall loading up with the ground and pound but he's missing more than he's landing in this flurry. Marshall postures up in Canedo's guard and throws a big left but Canedo blocks it.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless. Canedo is looking to stand back up... there's a bit of a scramble and Marshall dives into side control.
The strikes coming from Marshall are missing the target in this wave of attacks. Marshall throws an elbow but Canedo slips to the side and avoids it well. The ground and pound from Marshall seems to be hitting the mat more than his opponent. As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action. Marshall in side control, trying to ground and pound but not landing this time. Marshall throws a knee to the body but it doesn't do much damage. Marshall wants to work for a kimura but he's foiled early by Canedo, who protects the arm well. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Andrei Marshall dominated that round. The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action.
Marshall shoots in but doesn't get the takedown and Canedo counters with a three punch combo that has Marshall backing up. Marshall nods at Canedo to acknowledge the strikes. Marshall clinches. Canedo wants a takedown but no success here.
Canedo tightens his grip and picks Marshall up, before dumping him to the ground. Marshall manages to land in guard. Marshall pulls Canedo in close to his closed guard and prevents Canedo from doing any damage or advancing position. Andrei Marshall has got the better of the ground game so far. Canedo trying to move into half guard but instead Marshall has managed to sweep! Canedo working the defensive guard well to avoid strikes from Marshall. Marshall throws and elbow that misses. Canedo uses the momentum to reverse the position. He's now in Marshall's guard. Nice move by Canedo! Canedo wanted to stand there but Marshall had control of the position. Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here. Canedo is frustrating his opponent with some stalling tactics from top position.

Canedo trying to control but Marshall is working from the bottom. Canedo with a flurry of punches that miss. Canedo working some ground and pound from guard but it's not doing any damage. Canedo throws a strike but Marshall rolls with it and manages to sweep. Now he's in guard on top.
That's two minutes gone in the round. My god... these two guys really need to pick up the pace or everyone will leave to go get a beer. Canedo is trying to control the position from the bottom.

He's worked in a nice elbow to the side of the head as well, for good measure. Marshall tries to pass to full mount but Canedo defends it. Canedo keeping control of the leg, stopping his opponent passing to mount. Marshall is scoring with some nice ground and pound from the dominant position. Canedo manages to regain half guard whilst avoiding the strikes. Marshall is looking for a kimura. It's going to be difficult to finish that from half guard though and Canedo defends it well. The fighters are battling for position here. Canedo manages to regain full guard. Nice work. Canedo working the defensive guard well to avoid strikes from Marshall. Canedo controls Marshall momentarily but Marshall frees himself. Marshall throws and elbow that misses. Canedo uses the momentum to reverse the position. He's now in Marshall's guard. Nice move by Canedo!

Canedo stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Marshall swivels though and keeps the full guard. Canedo throws a big right hand that misses.
The referee decides to stand the fighters back up, due to lack of activity on the part of Eugene Canedo. Canedo misses with a jab and misses with a cross straight after too.

Nice move by Canedo! Canedo controls from within his opponent's guard. Marshall looking to hit a scissor sweep but Canedo is one step ahead there. The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end. Canedo advances position into side control!
And that's the end of the fight! Andrei Marshall comfortably won the final round on my scorecard. I think Marshall has won this one but let's see whether the judges agree with me. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
