Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Marcus Blicharz (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and John Evans (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 3 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Marcus Blicharz !
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 2 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, John Evans!
The judges for this bout are Steve Erwin, Summer Carpenter and Hugh Johnson.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Evans closes the distance and clinches up, looking for a takedown. He shifts his weight and gets a nice trip into half guard.
Evans wants to stand up but Blicharz is controlling the position.

Let's hope that Evans has the urge to step up the pace any second now because for the last 15 or 20 seconds he's just been holding on tight.
The referee is pacing around the two fighters - he looks like he's thinking about a standup.

Blicharz scores with a nice one two combo and darts back out of range to avoid anything coming in the opposite direction.

and Blicharz connects with a straight left hand counter down the middle.
Evans tries to clinch up but Blicharz circles away and keeps his distance.

Blicharz changes levels and looks for a double leg takedown. Evans tries to avoid it but Blicharz manages to keep hold of a leg and drag Evans to the ground. Evans escapes though and pops straight back up to his feet.
Wow, both these guys are really going for it!
No joy there for Evans, who threw a few shots but didn't land.

Blicharz gets double underhooks and manages to take the fight to the ground.
Evans is looking to get back to his feet but can't, whilst Blicharz is controlling him.

Blicharz thinks about going for a leg but decides against it, in order to maintain the position.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Blicharz has hold of Evans's hands but Evans slips his arm to the side and lands an elbow.
Evans takes a deep breath and rests his weight momentarily on top of his opponent, to control the position.
Evans really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Blicharz . If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.
Evans winds up and cracks Blicharz with a swinging punch to the side of the head.
Neither fighter is being very active at the moment, with Evans in particular looking to stall.
Evans's corner are shouting for him to control the position and he seems happy to oblige.

We may be looking at a referee standup if the pace doesn't pick up soon.

Evans throws a jab to the body, straight down the pipe. Boom. That sent Blicharz stumbling backwards but he manages to regain his composure quickly.
The fighters are starting to perspire pretty heavily.
Evans throws a good cross that connects.

OK we're going to have a standup here. John Evans hasn't been effective enough on the ground and the referee wants a restart.

Evans throws a loose over hand right and dives in with a double leg takedown. Blicharz tries to sprawl but it's too late and the fighters hit the mat. Evans is in Blicharz 's guard.

The fight moves into the clinch position.

Evans wants to stand but Blicharz is controlling his arm.
Blicharz takes a big shot right to the temple there but he's taken it well.
The referee asks Evans politely if he wouldn't mind getting on with it and actually doing something. Evans prefers to stall for the moment though.

Evans connects with a decent looking elbow from side control that caused Blicharz some visible discomfort.

Evans stands up and we're back to a striking position.

Evans shoots in for a takedown and gets it. Oh and he's advanced to full mount straight away.
The crowd growing excited in anticipation of a finish here! Right on cue, Evans cracks his opponent with a massive right hand that draws loud cheers!
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Blicharz is bucking up trying to escape but Evans cracks him with another couple of good strikes.

Evans takes a little breather and maintains the position. The referee will be looking for him to stay active from such a dominant position though.

The crowd are showing their displeasure at the lack of action as loud boos ring out around the arena.

Evans lands with some vicious ground and pound - can Blicharz hang on?

John Evans comfortably won the final round on my scorecard.
Well Evans has outworked and out performed his opponent in all aspects of the game today. He was simply too good and the decision should be no more than a formality. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
