Coming up we have a featherweight MMA rules bout between Bennet Amparo (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Marc Joe (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Both fighters really staring eachother down here, as Marc Joe enters the cage!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the featherweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 3 - 5 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Bennet Amparo!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 4 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Marc Joe!
The judges for this bout are Cecil Peabody, Stewart Dunkirk and George Francis.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Amparo tries a switch kick but it misses it's target.
Joe throws a head kick that misses and slips in the process. He scrambles back to his feet and the fighters circle.

Amparo gets to the clinch - let's see what his plan is here.

Amparo pulls Joe into guard.
Amparo really does look like a pencil wearing a pair of gloves. Let's hope he has a gameplan to suit that ridiculous body shape.
Joe controls from within his opponent's guard.
Amparo wants to stand but Joe is controlling the position.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Joe seems content to control from guard here. He's going to have to remain active though if he doesn't want to get stood back up.

The ref calls for a clean break and stands the fighters back up. Marc Joe wasn't active enough on the ground.
Joe takes a shot to the eye socket. That's gotta hurt.

Amparo throws a head kick that misses.
Amparo keeps his opponent at a distance with a nice jab.
Amparo connects with a lovely jab that went straight through the gap between Joe's hands.
Amparo scores with a big left there. The judges will like that one.
Amparo is looking to clinch.
Joe shoots in and drives through. Amparo sprawls well.
Amparo lands with a nice combination. Joe backs away looking to recover.

Amparo tries to grapple but his opponent circles

and Joe counters with a nice double leg into guard.
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!
Amparo wants to stand and escape but Joe is having none of it.
Amparo wants to sweep here but Joe controlling him for the moment.
Amparo is working hard here to advance position.

Amparo keeping full guard, as Joe tries to pass.

Amparo is working an open guard so Joe takes the opportunity to get back to his feet.

Joe misses with a head kick.
Joe takes a jab right on the kisser.
Joe throws a lazy head kick
and Joe takes a counter punch right on the button for his troubles.

Amparo shoots in but doesn't get the takedown

and Joe counters with a nice shoot takedown that brings the fighters to the ground.
Joe tries to free his leg and advance position but Amparo is retaining full guard.

Joe's corner is telling him to maintain position.
Joe throwing strikes from guard but Amparo blocks nicely.
Amparo is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive.
Joe stops Amparo from standing up.
Joe is stalling in the full guard.

OK we're going to have a standup here. Marc Joe hasn't been effective enough on the ground and the referee wants a restart.
Amparo cracks Joe with a right hand to the side of the head.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
A few boos can be heard. I'm sure they will multiply if the fighters don't pick up the pace.

and Joe counters with a shoot takedown into half guard.
Joe wants to free his trapped foot but Amparo is holding on for dear life with his legs.
Joe perhaps working for something from half guard, or maybe not. It looks like he's just sitting there.
Amparo is trying to get back to full guard.
The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end.
Amparo is concentrating on defense, preventing Joe from advancing position.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Marc Joe dominated that round.
That's time! Back to the action!


Amparo falls off balance throwing a combination

and Joe counters with a takedown into side control.
Joe advances nicely into full mount.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Joe sitting in mount, just looking to control for the moment.
Amparo is not a happy chappy… he wants out of there.
Joe lands a shot to the body, followed up by a shot to the exposed head of his trapped opponent.
BOOM! Joe connects with a massive shot to the dome!

Joe gets to his feet and calls his opponent to stand. Here come the fireworks!

and Joe counters with a nice shoot takedown that brings the fighters to the ground.

Joe works over Amparo with some ground and pound from guard.
Amparo knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Joe on the ground.
Joe seems content to control from guard here. He's going to have to remain active though if he doesn't want to get stood back up.
Amparo looking to sweep using the butterfly guard but Joe puts pay to that idea as he passes nicely into half guard.
Joe is taking a breather. Amparo says something to him but it's hard to make out. Perhaps he's telling him to get on with it and actually do something.
Joe prevents Amparo from improving his position.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action.
Joe thows a wild elbow that connects with the canvas.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Well, if Joe is going to just lie there, perhaps we should talk about what we're having for dinner tonight… I'm having a ham and pineapple pizza… Yum. Can't wait.
We may be looking at a referee standup if the pace doesn't pick up soon.
Amparo is looking to improve his position.

The ref stands the fighters back up, due to lack of action by Marc Joe.

Joe fakes an overhand right and shoots for a takedown. Amparo sprawls well initially but Joe persists and gets the takedown into half guard.
Joe keeping composed on the top, looking to control the action.

Joe missing with the ground and pound from half guard.
Joe wants to lay and pray for a moment but Amparo keeps working.
Amparo is controlling Joe's trapped leg to prevent Joe from advancing to side control.
Joe moves nicely into side control.
Amparo defending against the ground and pound.

Joe is working for what looks like an arm triangle here. Amparo is trying to escape and Joe transitions quickly into an armbar! He's slapped it on tight and Amparo is forced to tap! Nice work there by Joe! Very nice indeed!
