Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Tomi Koski (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Pat McDermot (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Koski comes into the arena with Dj Neon - In Hardtrance I Trust blaring out of the sound system. Over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

18 - 5 - 1, fighting out of Helsinki, Tomi Koski! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
12 - 2 - 0, fighting out of New York, Pat McDermot! The judges for this bout are Igor Prikhodko, Konstantin Menshow and Valeri Chadov.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Koski lands a head kick. McDermot smiles back at him and beckons him forward. McDermot misses with a hook
and Koski counters with a good right hand that lands right on the jaw. Nice uppercut lands for McDermot. That snapped Koski's head back.
McDermot throws a jab, cross combination which is slipped
and Koski counters with a head kick. A combination from McDermot does no damage. Koski misses with a body kick. Tomi Koski seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. Koski tries to bum rush McDermot with a series of wild strikes but McDermot uses good footwork to avoid the assault. Koski misses with a jab, cross combination.
Koski lands with a nice body kick. McDermot misses with a left hand and Koski counters with a nice low kick that buckles McDermot's knee momentarily. Koski wants to slow McDermot down by chopping away at his legs. McDermot throws a poor cross that misses

and Koski cracks him with a counter punch right on the button. Koski smiles there as he lands a nice right hand right on the button. Koski throws a sloppy body shot

McDermot shapes like he's going to throw a leg kick but settles back down. McDermot pushing out the jab but it's not landing. Koski swings and misses with a shot to the body and McDermot makes the exchange count by landing a cracking kick to the body. Koski really felt that one! Koski closes the distance and clinches. Koski tried to land a shot to the body but connects with McDermot's elbow. A head punch blocked on the inside by McDermot. Koski breaks the clinch.

McDermot thuds his right hand into Koski's forehead from close range. That could be painful for both fighters. McDermot throws a nice inside leg kick. McDermot throws a right hand that misses
and Koski counters with a good right hand that lands right on the jaw. Some wild striking there from McDermot.
Koski will need to tighten up his combinations if he doesn't want to gas himself out, swinging at thin air.
Koski throws a sloppy head kick and McDermot moves out of range easily. Koski is using his height advantage well here, landing a good percentage of his punches. McDermot slips a straight right by Koski. Koski connects with a body shot that sends McDermot's belly button to the back.

Koski thows a body shot but no joy. McDermot looks for the body kick but Koski saw that one coming. Koski lands a head kick. McDermot smiles back at him and beckons him forward. Koski takes a thudding leg kick, right into the meat of the thigh. Koski lands a vicious shot with the stealth of a sniper and the strength of a viper. Are vipers that strong? I can think of lots of things that are stronger than a viper - not many rhyme with sniper though.
McDermot connects with a leg kick. Koski looked like he was expecting something else and didn't defend it. McDermot throws a series of punches but Koski avoids them all with ease. McDermot keeping a good distance there, avoiding the body shot.
The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end. McDermot scores with a hook. Koski has his front leg slapped to the side - a nice low kick landing there from McDermot. Koski throws out a loose jab but McDermot uses good head movement to avoid it. McDermot uses good footwork to avoid the strikes from Koski. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Pat McDermot dominated that round. That's time! Koski's corner gives him a slap on the ass as he gets ready to fight.

and Koski counters with a right hand to the body. Koski bobs and weaves and throws out a fast jab that snaps McDermot's head backwards. McDermot throws a monster uppercut resembling something out of street fighter but it doesn't land. Koski throws an ugly left hook that misses
and he gets countered with a snapping leg kick. Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd. Koski misses with a body shot. Nice footwork from McDermot.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action. Koski clobbers McDermot with an overhand right that has the crowd gasping. That made a horrendous noise. Koski looks to score with a jab to the body but McDermot is just out of range. Koski throws an off balance right hand
and McDermot counters with a crisp hook to the side of the head. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Pat McDermot showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards. The fighters' corners scream their final instructions, as the referee calls time. Here we go, back to the action! This is the final round!

A swing and a miss from Koski. McDermot has a pretty nasty looking mouse under his right eye. Koski keeps McDermot at a distance using the push kick.

and Koski counters with a good right hand that lands right on the jaw. Koski works his jab well there, keeping his opponent at a distance. McDermot wants to slow Koski down by chopping away at his legs. Koski throws a leg kick and McDermot counters with a three punch combo that has Koski backing up. Koski nods at McDermot to acknowledge the strikes. McDermot throws an off balance right hand
and Koski counters with a nice uppercut. McDermot will need to close the distance a bit before he attacks - that leg kick was thrown from too far away.

Koski throws a lazy right hand but McDermot sees it coming a mile off and sidesteps it easily. Koski tries to work over McDermot's front leg with a kick but McDermot checks it. Nice body kick there by Koski. Tomi Koski has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here! McDermot has developed a nice purple lump on his ribcage, as a result of some heavy body kicks from Koski.

Koski throws a monster uppercut resembling something out of street fighter but it doesn't land. Koski swings for the body but McDermot moves out of range.
Koski stuns McDermot with a nice body shot, before stepping back out of range. McDermot walks into a stiff left hand from Koski. McDermot throws a nice hook to the body that draws an oooh from the crowd. A left lands for Koski. Koski bobs and weaves and unloads with a good uppercut. McDermot looks shocked there as he takes a right hand to the temple. Koski throws a hook to the body but it doesn't connect.
Pat McDermot is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things. Koski throws out a powerful jab.

McDermot throws an overhand right that lands on Koski's shoulder, as Koski tries to avoid the shot. McDermot throws a right hand that misses
and Koski makes the exchange count by landing a cracking kick to the body. McDermot really felt that one! A slapping leg kick lands for McDermot.
A jab lands there for Koski. McDermot is pinned up against the cage taking some big shots here. The referee is looking closely deciding whether he should stop the fight.

Koski is hobbling a little on that front leg after taking quite a few leg kicks so far in this fight. A jab from McDermot misses. Pat McDermot is fighting for a decision here - he's started to take the cautious approach. A nice leg kick lands there from McDermot.
