Coming up we have a bantamweight MMA rules bout between Eli Gabriel (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Flip McCoy (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Flip McCoy has the power to score a knockout today if he connects clean with Eli Gabriel's chin.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the bantamweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of New York, Eli Gabriel! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of New York, Flip McCoy! The judges for this bout are Russell Pearce, Anthony Taglia and John Roberts.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! McCoy tries to clinch up. McCoy shoots in and bounces Gabriel off the cage to secure the takedown into guard. Gabriel wants to stand and escape but McCoy is having none of it. McCoy drops back for a leg but he's not going to get it - he lets go and Gabriel dives on top into guard. McCoy is trying to keep Gabriel in close.
McCoy really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Gabriel. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out. Gabriel wants to control from the top but McCoy keeps moving. McCoy working a defensive guard but Gabriel passes into half guard.
McCoy flails away from the bottom but he's not doing any damage.
Gabriel decides he's had enough of the ground and stands up. McCoy changes levels and drives through with a really nice takedown into side control. Gabriel looks really pissed at himself for not defending that better.
That's one minute gone in the round. McCoy prevents Gabriel from escaping the position. Gabriel is trying to get back to half guard. He's pushing on McCoy's leg. He's managed it. Nice work. Neither fighter is being very active at the moment, with McCoy in particular looking to stall. McCoy works his way into side control. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. McCoy working away. McCoy is looking for a kimura. He might have it! No, Gabriel has escaped the position, nice work there. McCoy looks gassed! A bit of a lull in the action here.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Gabriel regains half guard. Gabriel makes his way to full guard. A much better position for Gabriel. McCoy should think about turning a few of those tyres round his middle into muscle if he wants people to take him seriously as an athlete. Gabriel manages to escape and get back to his feet.
Gabriel throws a head kick but McCoy moves out of range.
A head kick misses from Gabriel. Gabriel takes the fight into the clinch. A head punch on the inside from Gabriel fails to land. Gabriel gets a trip takedown into half guard. McCoy is not content to let Gabriel control the position. McCoy trying to get back to full guard but Gabriel takes advantage of the position and moves to full mount! McCoy wants to hold on but Gabriel pushes him away.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Gabriel throwing sloppy strikes, which aren't doing any damage. McCoy is desperately trying to improve his position but Gabriel has a good base and remains in mount. We get told so often about how wrestlers don't like to be on their backs. Let's see if McCoy can do anything to dispel that myth. McCoy is persisting with the attempt to improve his position. McCoy tries to buck Gabriel off but he can't manage it. McCoy wants to control but Gabriel is having none of it. McCoy is trying to escape the mount.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Gabriel throwing sloppy strikes here. Perhaps if he tightened up his striking from such a dominant position, he'd be able to finish easier.
Gabriel looking to control but McCoy is working nicely, looking to advance position himself. Gabriel sitting in mount, just looking to control for the moment.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it. Gabriel throwing strikes here but McCoy is writhing around nicely and avoiding any serious damage.
Gabriel throws an elbow from mount that misses. Lucky escape for McCoy because Gabriel loaded up on that one. McCoy keeping his composure momentarily, calmly looking to get back to half guard.
Gabriel throwing sloppy strikes, which aren't doing any damage. McCoy tries to hold on but Gabriel pushes him away. Gabriel tucks in and makes sure he doesn't lose the dominant position. We're hearing some news coming in from back stage. It's official - McCoy has eaten all the pies! McCoy is writhing around trying to get back to his feet. McCoy is in a horrible position here, under a barrage of strikes, he's managing to avoid any damage.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Eli Gabriel dominated that round. The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action.
Gabriel tries for a takedown but McCoy circles away easily and McCoy counters with a nice double leg into side control. Gabriel won't be happy with that. McCoy wants to lay and pray for a moment but Gabriel keeps working. Gabriel has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission. McCoy just content to control the position. McCoy working away. McCoy connects with a decent looking elbow from side control that caused Gabriel some visible discomfort.
Gabriel wants to control but McCoy postures up. McCoy wants to lay and pray for a moment but Gabriel keeps working. Gabriel manages to work his way to half guard, despite McCoy's best efforts. Gabriel wants to control but McCoy is keeping busy.
McCoy is breathing heavily.
That's one minute gone in the round. Gabriel gets full guard. Gabriel wants to sweep here but McCoy controlling him for the moment. McCoy won't allow Gabriel to get back to his feet. McCoy drops back looking for a heel hook - he quickly realises he's not going to get it but Gabriel manages to dive on top of him before he can escape and now McCoy has Gabriel in his guard. Gabriel throws a big right hand that misses. Gabriel decides he's had enough of playing guard and decides to stand. Come on McCoy, up you get! Gabriel closes the distance and looks for a trip takedown... aaaand he's got it - Gabriel lands in his opponent's guard. McCoy manages to escape and get back to his feet.
That's two minutes gone in the round. McCoy shoots in for a takedown and gets it. Oh and he's advanced to full mount straight away. McCoy avoids the attempt from Gabriel to control. McCoy trying to control but he's not successful this time. Gabriel is trying to escape but when you're mounted that's not too easy.
A nice elbow there by McCoy. Gabriel working to try and regain half guard.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Gabriel wants to control but McCoy is having none of it. Gabriel is in all sorts of trouble here.
Gabriel gets back to half guard. Gabriel is not content to let McCoy control the position. McCoy stalling. Gabriel gets full guard. McCoy has gone for a leg lock! Gabriel slips out almost immediately though and dives into McCoy's guard. Gabriel is looking to work some ground and pound but McCoy has wrist control.
That's four minutes gone in the round. McCoy looking to sweep using the butterfly guard but Gabriel puts pay to that idea as he passes nicely into half guard. Gabriel is looking to take a break and control but McCoy is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom. Gabriel content to control rather than advance. Gabriel is thinking about going for an arm triangle but he can't free his leg.
Gabriel escapes and gets back to his feet. Gabriel tries for a takedown but McCoy circles away easily and McCoy counters with a nice double leg into half guard. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Flip McCoy showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards. OK. That's time! The bell goes and we're back to the action. This is the final round!
McCoy keeps the fight on the outside. Gabriel tries to clinch up. Jab, cross, leg kick. Nice combination by Gabriel!
Gabriel shoots and misses and McCoy decides to take the opportunity to score a takedown. He's landed in Gabriel's guard. McCoy content to stall in guard here. McCoy trying to control the position from guard on top but Gabriel is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can. Gabriel is working an open guard so McCoy takes the opportunity to get back to his feet. Gabriel thows a body shot but no joy. Gabriel is looking to take this fight into the clinch. McCoy shoots in and bounces Gabriel off the cage to secure the takedown into guard. The crowd are loving this. Great action here. Gabriel is trying to control the position from the bottom.
That's one minute gone in the round. McCoy not doing a lot at the moment. He'll have to show some more aggression or the fight will get stood up. Gabriel is actively looking for submissions from his back. He's worked himself a little space on the bottom and seems to be going for a triangle. No, he's switched into an armbar! That was slick! McCoy rolls with it to try and escape but Gabriel cranks on the arm and McCoy is forced to tap out! This one is aaaaaaaaall over!
