Coming up we have a super heavyweight MMA rules bout between Aleksandr Progbeniak (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Jose Pegador (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Jose Pegador told me before the fight that he's been watching a lot of DVDs so let's see if that helps him in this one! I can't wait to find out!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the super heavyweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
6 - 3 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Aleksandr Progbeniak! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
12 - 11 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Jose Pegador! The judges for this bout are Matheus Silva, Seu Braga and Paulo Santos.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Progbeniak instigates a clinch. Pegador stops a takedown attempt from Progbeniak.
Pegador breaks the clinch.
Wow, both these guys are really going for it! Pegador tries to close the distance and clinch up against the cage but Progbeniak paws at him with a jab and circles away. Pegador doesn't succeed with the takedown and Progbeniak counters nicely by changing levels and landing a hook to the body. Progbeniak throws a loose over hand right and dives in with a double leg takedown. Pegador tries to sprawl but it's too late and the fighters hit the mat. Progbeniak is in Pegador's guard. We could do with one of the fighters taking the initiative a bit more on the ground - they're both waiting to capitalize on a mistake. Progbeniak controls from within his opponent's guard. Progbeniak passes Pegador's right leg, so he's now in half guard. Progbeniak seems content to maintain position for now, rather than mounting any offense. Progbeniak seems very keen to just sit and control from half guard but Pegador does not like that idea so much and is remaining active off his back. The referee looks like he's ready to step in and stand the fighters back up. Progbeniak is sneakily working for an arm triangle but Pegador sees it coming and defends easily. Progbeniak wants to free his trapped foot but Pegador is holding on for dear life with his legs.
That's one minute gone in the round. Pegador is looking to regain full guard. Not this time though. The referee calls for the fighters to work.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Progbeniak is working hard to pass the guard. He's done it - he's now in full mount! Trouble for Pegador! Progbeniak looking for an armbar but decides to keep the dominant position instead. Progbeniak is working on an americana here. Ooh, that looks pretty nasty! Nope, Pegador has managed to escape the submission attempt.
Pegador is in a horrible position here. Progbeniak smacks him with another shot as he tries to escape the position.
Pegador wants to hold on but Progbeniak pushes him away. Pegador really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Progbeniak. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out. Progbeniak controlling from the full mount. Progbeniak trying to control but he's not successful this time. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
That's two minutes gone in the round. The referee warns Pegador that he has to improve his position here as he takes two more clean shots to the head.
Pegador throwing punches from his back but nothing is landing. Pegador can't escape the position.
Progbeniak gets to his feet and calls his opponent to stand. Here come the fireworks! The fighters circling - Pegador throws out the jab but it was never going to land. Progbeniak connects with the punch. Progbeniak shoots in for a takedown and gets it. Pegador looks gassed! This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff! Progbeniak gets to his feet - back to striking we go! Progbeniak shoots in for a takedown and gets it. Pegador wants to get back to his feet.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Progbeniak works his way into side control. Pegador is letting Progbeniak control him for a moment. Progbeniak trying to control the position but Pegador is working away. Progbeniak takes a little break here. Pegador wants to take advantage but he is being controlled well. Progbeniak trying to control the action but Pegador is working from the bottom. Progbeniak slows the pace down. Progbeniak stands up.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Pegador has his takedown stuffed and Progbeniak counters with a shoot takedown into half guard. Progbeniak wants to take a breather but Pegador is having none of it. Progbeniak performing his best blanket impression for a moment. Progbeniak is looking to take a break and control but Pegador is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom.
We're going to have a standup here because Aleksandr Progbeniak wasn't active enough for the referee's liking. Progbeniak darts in and lands a nice takedown into half guard. Progbeniak has freed up his trapped foot and advances to mount. As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action. Progbeniak wants to control the pace but Pegador is squirming around nicely. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Aleksandr Progbeniak dominated that round. The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action.
Pegador tries to grapple but his opponent circles and Progbeniak counters with a nice single leg takedown and he's in Pegador's guard now. Pegador pushes Progbeniak off and scrambles back to his feet.
Progbeniak shoots in looking for a double leg takedown. Pegador defends it nicely. Progbeniak closes the distance and scores a nice trip takedown into half guard. Pegador did well to prevent Progbeniak getting side control. Pegador wants to get back to his feet.
Progbeniak is working for a kimura but Pegador is defending it quite comfortably.
Pegador tries to get to full guard but Progbeniak has control of the leg. The referee calls for the fighters to work.

That's one minute gone in the round. Progbeniak passes to full mount! Aleksandr Progbeniak overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far. Progbeniak controlling the pace for now. Progbeniak wants to control the pace but Pegador is squirming around nicely. Progbeniak tucks in and makes sure he doesn't lose the dominant position. Progbeniak looking to control but Pegador is working nicely, looking to advance position himself. Progbeniak with a couple of short strikes. Progbeniak looking to finish Pegador with some ground and pound. This is bad for Pegador! Progbeniak prevents Pegador from getting the reversal.

It looks like Jose Pegador has been cut. The crowd are loving this. Great action here. Progbeniak controlling from mount. Progbeniak trying to control but Pegador is having none of it. Progbeniak takes a little breather and maintains the position. The referee will be looking for him to stay active from such a dominant position though. Progbeniak can't quite control the action as he would like just now, as Pegador is looking to escape. Progbeniak putting on the heat here with some good ground and pound!
That's three minutes gone in the round. Progbeniak controlling from mount. Progbeniak has controlled the position for a good 20 seconds, which will no doubt be starting to frustrate his opponent. Progbeniak is really dominating this fight. Is there anything that Pegador can do to turn this around? Progbeniak lands a big elbow.
That has opened up Jose Pegador's cut even more. Progbeniak is going oldschool here, as he tries to force Pegador to tap using a forearm choke. This isn't 1993 though, so Pegador shrugs it off. Progbeniak looking for a guillotine from mount but Pegador is having none of it. Pegador is squirming around, avoiding Progbeniak's attempts to control the action.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Progbeniak takes a little breather and maintains the position. The referee will be looking for him to stay active from such a dominant position though. Progbeniak is standing up out of mount! Strange tactic there - he must really want this one on the feet! Progbeniak decides to change it up a bit and drives through with a nice takedown into half guard. Pegador tries to kick Progbeniak off but Progbeniak keeps his base steady and stays in half guard. Progbeniak moves nicely into side control. The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so! Progbeniak has had enough of the ground for now and decides to stand. As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action. Pegador fails with a takedown attempt. A momentary lapse in concentration from Pegador enables Progbeniak to shoot in and score with a neat double leg. Pegador manages to secure a closed guard as the fighters hit the mat. Progbeniak forces his way into half guard. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Progbeniak is pausing for a moment. What's he doing? It looks like he's clearing his nose. Oh dude! He's shot a load of snot all down Pegador's shoulder. That is not cool. Progbeniak advances to mount. Progbeniak is in full mount, looking to secure a guillotine but Pegador is surviving well by controlling Progbeniak's body position as best he can. Pegador is in all sorts of trouble here.
