Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the super heavyweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
3 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, John Beck! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
2 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Lone Ryder! The judges for this bout are Leandro Rodrigues, Mauricio Rocha and Paulo Santos.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Beck shoots in looking for a single leg takedown. Ryder is trying to defend but Beck finishes it well and ends up in half guard. Let's see if he can advance position further. Beck looks towards his corner to check for any instructions. The corner give him nothing to work with, so he cracks Ryder with a short hammerfist. I guess that's as good as any advice he could get in this position. Ryder is trying to stand back up but Beck is controlling him
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Beck is breathing heavily. Beck controlling the action here. Ryder really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Beck. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out. Beck missing with the ground and pound from half guard.
That's one minute gone in the round. Ryder looks like he's trying to stand up.
Ryder wants to improve his position but Beck is controlling well.
Ryder tries to kick Beck off but Beck keeps his base steady and stays in half guard. Ryder is not content to let Beck control the position. The referee is pacing around the two fighters - he looks like he's thinking about a standup. Ryder is trying to stand back up but Beck is controlling him
That's two minutes gone in the round. There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action.
The referee has ruled that neither fighter is active enough on the ground and has stood them back up. Ryder gets taken down but at least he's managed to land in guard. Beck slips effortlessly into side control - very nice. Ryder dodges the ground and pound from Beck. Beck misses with a strike but at least he's keeping busy, looking to cause some damage - that will still help him when it comes to the judges scorecards.
Ryder wants to get back to his feet.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Beck trying to control the action but Ryder is working from the bottom. Ryder tries to get back to half guard but can't. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
That's four minutes gone in the round. The crowd are getting on the fighters' backs, as the pace has dropped off in the last minute or so. Ryder wants to get back to his feet. The crowd thankful this round is nearly over. Beck throws a knee to the body but it doesn't do much damage. Beck in side control, throwing shots but Ryder defends. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
John Beck dominated that round. That's the end of the round. The referee orders the cornermen out of the cage so we can get back down to business.
Ryder stuns Beck with a nice body shot, before stepping back out of range. Ryder lands a jab-cross combination.
It looks like John Beck has been cut. Ryder works Beck's body with a nice hook. The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here. Ryder scores with a reasonable looking shot to the body. Beck doesn't seem bothered though. Ryder lands a slapping body shot.
John Beck is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things. Beck takes a body punch but keeps moving. Ryder lands with a good body shot. Ryder throws a shot to the body.
Ryder dips down and scores with a jab to the body. Ryder lands with a shot to the body. Nice body punch from Ryder. Ryder lands a straight punch to the body, keeping Beck at a distance.
Beck doesn't react quick enough there as he takes a shot to the body. Ryder wings a very wild body shot but it does the job and lands to the midsection. Ryder punishes Beck's body with a nice straight punch. Lone Ryder seems to be getting the better of the standup. Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here. Ryder ducks low and lands a nice hook to the body of his opponent. Ryder fakes a head shot and lands one to the body.
That's one minute gone in the round. Ryder lands with a good body shot. A jab lands there for Ryder. Beck on the wrong end of a nice hook.
Beck is rocked! Ryder scores with a hook to the body. Beck takes a step back and tries to catch his breath. Oh Beck is still all over the place! His legs are completely gone! Will he be able to recover?!! The crowd are loving this. Great action here. Beck drops his hands for a split second and Ryder immediately capitalizes on the opportunity by smashing a powerful hook into Beck face, sending his mouthguard sailing through the air, much to the delight of the crowd. Ryder follows up with a right hand that knocks Beck into next week. He's out cold and this fight is over!
