Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Robert Buddy (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Desmond Hume (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). The key to victory for Robert Buddy has got to be keeping the fight on the feet.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 13 - 10 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Robert Buddy!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 8 - 6 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Desmond Hume!
The judges for this bout are Damien Edna, Steve Erwin and Skip Squint.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Buddy wings a very wild body shot but it does the job and lands to the midsection.
Hume closes this distance looking for a takedown but Buddy circles away.
Hume bobs and weaves well there to avoid the strikes.
Buddy lands a straight punch to the body, keeping Hume at a distance.
Hume tests Buddy's chin there with a solid looking shot.
Buddy stuffs a takedown. It's all about dictating where the fight takes place and Buddy wants it to stay on the feet.

and Hume holds on and brings the fighters into a clinch.

Hume escapes the clinch and we're back to striking.
Hume has his hands up protecting his head but a hook from Buddy finds it's way round the side to connect with Hume's head.
A looping hook to the body misses from Buddy. Hume does a little dance to reset his feet.
Hume shoots in for a takedown but doesn't get it.
Robert Buddy has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Desmond Hume.

Hume throws the overhand right but ducks down into a quick takedown attempt. Buddy was covering up waiting for the punch and Hume finishes the takedown easily into guard.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Hume working some ground and pound from guard but it's not doing any damage.

Hume won't allow Buddy to sweep him here.
Buddy is trying to keep Hume in close.
Buddy bucks up whilst keeping hold of a body lock, managing to reverse the position. Now he's in top in Hume's guard.

Hume is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive.

OK we're going to have a standup here. Desmond Hume hasn't been effective enough on the ground and the referee wants a restart.
Hume takes a jab right on the nose. That must have hurt but he shrugs his shoulders and looks to return the favor.

Buddy has had enough of the clinch but Hume keeps him there for the moment.

Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it.

Buddy breaks the clinch and we're back to striking at distance.
Buddy looks to throw the jab but Hume is out of range.
Nice sprawl there from Buddy as Hume shoots in.
Hume throws a head kick that looked like it stung.

and Hume counters with a takedown into full mount! That could mean trouble for Buddy!
Buddy is desperately trying to get back to half guard.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end.

The ref calls for a clean break and stands the fighters back up. Desmond Hume wasn't active enough on the ground.

and Hume holds on and brings the fighters into a clinch.

Hume breaks the clinch and we return to the middle of the mat.
Buddy lands a vicious shot with the stealth of a sniper and the strength of a viper. Are vipers that strong? I can think of lots of things that are stronger than a viper - not many rhyme with sniper though.
Robert Buddy seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Buddy throws a body punch but Hume moves out of range.
Hume shoots in but doesn't get the takedown
and Buddy counters with a nice uppercut.

Hume is breathing heavily.
Hume takes a shot to the nose. Hopefully that hasn't broken it.
Hume takes a jab on the nose there. A little bit of blood seems to be coming out. Hopefully that won't affect his breathing.
Buddy misses with an uppercut. Hume saw that one coming.
Robert Buddy is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs.
Buddy ducks down and throws a hook to the body but Hume moves away.

Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.

That was a close second round but I would say that Robert Buddy will probably get the nod.
That's time! Buddy's corner gives him a slap on the ass as he gets ready to fight. This is the final round!

We've had a lack of effective grappling in the last minute or so, which could well see a referee standup.

I think Hume has won this one but let's see whether the judges agree with me. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
