Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of
5 - 3 - 1, fighting out of New York, Marshall Mathers!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of
9 - 5 - 0, fighting out of New York, Chrissy Boy!
The judges for this bout are David Schapiro, Alyssa Summers and John Roberts.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Mathers avoids a punch combination nicely.
Sloppy strikes from Mathers. Those never looked like landing.
Boy looks to land a combination but Mathers avoids it well.
No joy there for Boy, who threw a few shots but didn't land.
Mathers misses with a body shot.
Boy throws a poor cross that misses
and Mathers counters with a straight right hand.
Boy swings widly with a right hand
and Mathers counters with a crisp hook to the side of the head.
It looks like Chrissy Boy has been cut.
Mathers connects with a crisp jab.
Mathers wings a very wild body shot but it does the job and lands to the midsection.
Boy throws a hook to the body but it doesn't connect.
Boy takes a jab on the nose. He smiles like he loves it and keeps coming.
Boy waving his hands out in front of him, looking to distract Mathers.
Boy throws a jab, cross combination which is slipped
and Mathers connects with a straight left hand counter down the middle.
This has been an exciting period of action!
Boy takes one on the button.
Mathers ducks down and throws a hook to the body but Boy moves away.
Mathers cracks Boy with a hook to the jaw. Both fighters smile at eachother and high-five before getting back down to business.
Boy misses with a hook. Mathers ducked under it nicely.
A looping hook to the body misses from Mathers. Boy does a little dance to reset his feet.
Mathers works the jab nicely.
That's one minute gone in the round.
Boy throws an uppercut from half a mile away. Mathers sees it coming and avoids it easily.
Boy moves out of range as Mathers strikes.
Mathers lands a left and a right that send Boy crashing to the mat, dazed. Mathers thinks about following him to the mat but decides to wave him back up to his feet!
Boy is rocked!
That has opened up Chrissy Boy's cut even more.
Boy misses with a jab to the body
and Mathers counters with a big left hand that crumples Boy! He was out before he hit the floor! Brutal knockout!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 1:18 of round 1, we have a winner by way of KO (Punch). Marshall Mathers!
