Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Dan Bowbish (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Lucifer Ratzinger (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Rumors backstage are that the fighters have been paid to keep it standing but we know that would never happen in MMA!

3 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Lucifer Ratzinger! The judges for this bout are Steve Erwin, John Mangel and Donatello Bradman.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Ratzinger throws a leg kick but Bowbish sees it coming and checks it nicely. Bowbish pushes Ratzinger up against the cage in a clinch. Bowbish blocks an elbow strike from Ratzinger.
A nice glancing elbow lands by Ratzinger. Bowbish tries for a takedown but Ratzinger manages to get underhooks.

The referee decides to stand the fighters back up. Ratzinger thuds his shin into the meat of Bowbish's side. Lucifer Ratzinger is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs. A leg kick checked by Bowbish. Bowbish moves into the clinch successfully.

Ratzinger doesn't react quick enough there as he takes a shot to the body. Bowbish drives through with a really nice takedown into side control. Ratzinger struggling a bit here. Bowbish landing strikes. Bowbish wants to control but Ratzinger is keeping him busy. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action. Ratzinger managing to avoid any damage from the strikes thrown by Bowbish.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
That was a close round but I would say that Dan Bowbish will probably get the nod. The fighters get back to their feet, the hooter sounds and we're back to the action!

Bowbish throws a nice looking combination but Ratzinger bobs and weaves to avoid any damage. Bowbish scores with a hook. Bowbish throws a combination. Ratzinger tries to block but a couple of punches get through.
Ratzinger is rocked! Bowbish clinches. Ratzinger is still on wobbly legs! Can Bowbish finish him? Bowbish lands a nice trip takedown into half guard.
Ratzinger seems to have recovered his senses. This has been an exciting period of action! Ratzinger trying to hold on to Bowbish's head to control him but Bowbish postures up.
Bowbish wants to take a breather but Ratzinger is having none of it. Bowbish is nestled in close to Ratzinger, controlling him well. He's worked in a nice elbow to the side of the head as well, for good measure. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Ratzinger is looking to get full guard. It looks like he might be successful but at the last minute Bowbish jumps into side control! Ratzinger is breathing heavily.

Bowbish is using his height advantage well here, landing a good percentage of his punches. Bowbish uses good footwork to avoid the strikes from Ratzinger. Bowbish shakes his hands off, looking to compose himself, but takes a jab to the jaw whilst he does it. Ratzinger throws a low kick but his opponent is out of range.

We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for leaving it all in the cage! Ratzinger tries a switch kick but it misses it's target. Bowbish gets to the clinch - let's see what his plan is here. Bowbish breaks from the clinch.
Ratzinger walks straight into a jab right on the nose. That one stung - he's blinking and trying to clear his head. Ratzinger tries to close the distance and clinch up but Bowbish swats him away and circles back towards the center. Bowbish fails with an attempt to clinch.
Bowbish feints and then dives in with a takedown. That was a long way out but the feint bought him enough time to close the distance and complete the takedown. Now we'll play guard for a bit and see who can get the better of that position. Bowbish throwing elbows and punches but not connecting, as Ratzinger works some decent striking defense from the bottom. Bowbish stays in close to Ratzinger's body and controls the position. The crowd are going absolutely nuts as the round comes to an end - what a fantastic round of action! Bowbish gets to his feet and steps away from his opponent. Nice uppercut there from Bowbish. It really doesn't seem like the step up in weight is hurting Bowbish here at all. He's more than holding his own against the bigger man. Bowbish turns his back and goes for a hip toss. It's a bit messy but it gets the job done and Bowbish manages to end up in side control. Bowbish is moving around in side control but his primary objective seems to be to maintain the position.

That's four minutes gone in the round. The crowd are getting on the fighters' backs, as the pace has dropped off in the last minute or so. Ratzinger tries to grapple but his opponent circles and Bowbish counters with a nice double leg into guard. Bowbish wants to pass the guard but Ratzinger is keeping the position. Ratzinger controlling the position. Bowbish slips effortlessly into side control - very nice. Bowbish working the body and head with strikes. Bowbish in side control lands a nice looking series of punches and elbows. The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end. Bowbish is staying tight to Ratzinger's torso, preventing him from escaping. Lucifer Ratzinger has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here! Bowbish in side control lands a decent elbow.
And that's the end of the fight! Dan Bowbish showed his dominance in that final round. Well Bowbish has outscored his opponent in every aspect of the fight today. Only a scarily incompetent judge or two will keep him from a well deserved win... Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
