The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Breeg scores with a takedown into Mcghee's guard. Mcghee controlling the position. Breeg wants to pass the guard but Mcghee is keeping the position. Breeg is holding a leg here, probably looking for an ankle lock - he drops back and goes for it! Mcghee is in trouble! Is it all over??? No! Mcghee has escaped and now he's on top! Breeg throws his legs up looking to secure a triangle. Oh, that looks pretty tight, I gotta say! Mcghee escapes and throws Breeg's legs to the side, diving into side control! Breeg is positioning himself to get back to half guard.
That's one minute gone in the round. Breeg is persisting with the attempt to improve his position. Breeg regains half guard. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Breeg tries to roll over but Mcghee keeps him under control. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Mcghee is figuring out what he wants to do next. Breeg wants to get back to full guard.
That's two minutes gone in the round. A few boos can be heard. I'm sure they will multiply if the fighters don't pick up the pace. Breeg gets full guard. Mcghee wants to stand but Breeg has a closed guard, so he can't escape. Mcghee gets to his feet. Breeg looking to butt scoot but the ref puts an end to that. On your feet son! Breeg misses with a takedown attempt and Breeg takes a counter punch right on the button for his troubles. Paulie Mcghee is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs. Breeg tries to land with a swinging hook to the body but Mcghee was well out of range. Poor timing from Breeg. Breeg misses with a takedown attempt and Breeg takes a counter punch right on the button for his troubles. Mcghee lands a big head kick that sends Breeg tumbling to the mat! Mcghee takes a step backwards and waves Breeg back to his feet - he wants the finish! Breeg gets his takedown attempt stuffed easily and Mcghee counters with a leg kick. Paulie Mcghee has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Benjamin Breeg. Breeg looks gassed! A shot to the body from Breeg misses and Mcghee counters with an inside leg kick.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Breeg gets his takedown attempt stuffed easily and Mcghee counters with a slapping leg kick. The fighters circle, before Mcghee throws a beautiful high kick that crashes into Breeg's neck, sending him stumbling to the floor! Mcghee lands more strikes and forces a referee stoppage! That one ended in an instant!
