Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.

The judges for this bout are Alyssa Summers, Russell Pearce and Franklyn Lucas.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Hooker tries to bum rush Mercer with a series of wild strikes but Mercer uses good footwork to avoid the assault.
Mercer throws a combination but comes up with nothing but fresh air.
Mercer throws a jab, cross combination which is slipped
and Hooker moves into the clinch.
Hooker is trying to break free.
Hooker breaks the clinch and we're back to striking at distance.
Hooker fails with an attempt to clinch.
Mercer has a takedown stuffed.
Mercer looks to land a left hand but Hooker moved out of range nicely.
Mercer scores with a jab to the jaw.
It looks like Jack Hooker has been cut.
Hooker scores with a jab.
Mercer shoots in with a lovely double leg takedown. Hooker manages to land in full guard to minimise the damage.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
Mercer's corner is telling him to maintain position.
Mercer wants to control from the top but Hooker keeps moving.
That's one minute gone in the round.
Mercer looking to sit in guard and control but Hooker gets the butterfly guard and sweeps. He's now in the guard on the top.
Mercer keeping moving, preventing Hooker from controlling successfully.
The ref stands the fighters back up because Jack Hooker just wasn't active enough.
Hooker misses with a jab and misses with a cross straight after too.
That's two minutes gone in the round.
Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless.
Mercer fails with a rather predictable takedown attempt.
Hooker fails to land with a series of punches.
Hooker moves away from the strike by Mercer.
Mercer throws a left and a right that both miss
and Hooker counters with a left to the body.
Mercer looks gassed!
Hooker rushes forward with a series of wild hooks but Mercer moves out of range and avoids them all easily.
Hooker misses with a series of wild punches.
Hooker lands a hook that stumbles Mercer back into the cage. Hooker follows up with a straight and another hook that land right on the button, dropping Mercer to the canvas! Hooker pounces and lands several unanswered shots - Mercer has had enough and taps out! This one is all over!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 2:28 of round 1, we have a winner by way of Submission (Strikes). Jack Hooker!
