The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Scilio moves to clinch but Gracie breaks away
and Gracie counters with a lovely straight right hand!
Scilio scores with a head kick. Gracie tried to block it but didn't get his arm up in time.

Scilio throws the kick towards the body but Gracie avoids it.
Scilio throws a sloppy head kick and Gracie moves out of range easily.

Gracie closes the distance and gets a trip takedown into side control. Scilio quickly recovers to half guard.

Gracie is looking for a kimura but Scilio is holding onto that half guard position, so it's hard for Gracie to get the leverage.

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
