Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Rob Adam (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Wiley Abu (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Adam comes into the arena with Grateful Deads- Truckin' blaring out of the sound system. Both fighters look fresh as a daisy as they make their way towards the cage.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

No joy there for Adam, who threw a few shots but didn't land.

Abu has gone for a leg lock! Adam slips out almost immediately though and dives into Abu's guard.

and Abu counters with a nice double leg into side control. Adam won't be happy with that.

Abu tries for an arm triangle. That looks pretty tight to me. Is this one over!?! Possibly, maybe, no Abu has let go of the choke. Obviously it wasn't as tight as we thought!

and Abu counters with a nice shoot takedown that brings the fighters to the ground.
Adam is doing well to control the posture of his opponent and prevent any damage.

Adam has butterfly guard. He's looking to stand up here. He pushes Abu off him and springs to his feet nicely. The crowd applauds.
Adam throws out a loose jab but Abu uses good head movement to avoid it.

Wiley Abu showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.

Adam ducks down and throws a hook to the body but Abu moves away.
Adam lunges in with swinging rights and lefts but Abu circles away quickly and effectively.
Wiley Abu is fighting for a decision here - he's started to take the cautious approach.
Horrible takedown by Abu or perhaps it was just good defense by Adam which made him look bad.
