Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of New York, Nick Vass Jr!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of New York, Larry Summers!
The judges for this bout are John Kavanagh, Eddie Farnsworth and Columbo Gatti.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Vass Jr clinches up against the cage.
Vass Jr has had enough of the clinch and is looking to separate.
Vass Jr is clearly stalling here... Pick up the pace son.

Summers breaks the clinch and we're back to striking at distance.
Summers tries to grapple but his opponent circles

and Vass Jr counters with a nice double leg into half guard.
Vass Jr could do with loosing a few pounds - he looks very soft around the mid section, to put it politely.

Summers looking to work for a kimura from the bottom.
Summers tries to roll over but Vass Jr keeps him under control.
Vass Jr passes the half guard and he's now in mount! Big trouble for Summers!
Vass Jr unloads with some shots from mount but Summers bucks and avoids them well.

Vass Jr trying to control but he's not successful this time.
Vass Jr throwing strikes here but Summers is writhing around nicely and avoiding any serious damage.
Summers is desperately trying to improve his position but Vass Jr has a good base and remains in mount.
Vass Jr wants to control the pace but Summers is squirming around nicely.
Summers holding onto his opponent's waist for dear life, as Vass Jr tries to land some strikes to get him to release his grip.
Summers is desperately trying to get back to half guard.
Vass Jr trying to control but Summers is having none of it.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
The crowd are hurling abuse towards the fighters... You can hardly blame them though because there isn't a lot going on in the fight.

Vass Jr is going oldschool here, as he tries to force Summers to tap using a forearm choke. This isn't 1993 though, so Summers shrugs it off.

Summers really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Vass Jr. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.
The crowd growing excited in anticipation of a finish here! Right on cue, Vass Jr cracks his opponent with a massive right hand that draws loud cheers!
Vass Jr is still in mount, landing shots to his trapped opponent. Summers can't stay in a position like this for much longer.
Vass Jr thowing shots but they're missing.
Summers wriggling around on the bottom manages to avoid the strikes thrown by Vass Jr.

That's three minutes gone in the round.
Summers is desperately trying to improve his position but Vass Jr has a good base and remains in mount.
Vass Jr has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission.
Summers looks gassed!
Vass Jr can't quite control the action as he would like just now, as Summers is looking to escape.
Vass Jr is really struggling to control Summers but he's trying to hold on to the position.
Summers is trying to escape the mount but Vass Jr keeps good control and instead manages to take Summers's back.
Vass Jr controlling the position well here. Summers rolled but Vass Jr kept the hooks locked in and stayed in the dominant position.
Vass Jr throws a big right hand but he misses and hits the mat. Ouch.

The crowd are showing their displeasure at the lack of action as loud boos ring out around the arena.
Summers covering up well under a barage of strikes.
Vass Jr wants to control but Summers is keeping busy.
Vass Jr missing with punches from the back.
Vass Jr somehow managing to miss with a strike from the back.
So, who will make the next big move? In this position it could be crucial.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Nick Vass Jr dominated that round.
That's the end of the round. The referee orders the cornermen out of the cage so we can get back down to business.

Vass Jr stands and steps away. Summers gets to his feet too and we're back to the striking game.

Vass Jr takes the fight into the clinch.
Vass Jr misses with a knee to the head.
Vass Jr is trying to push Summers away but Summers has him pressed against the cage, so he's going nowhere.
Summers is breathing heavily.
Vass Jr has had enough of the clinch but Summers keeps him there for the moment.

Vass Jr decides to pull guard.
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!
Vass Jr has control of Summers's left arm, preventing Summers from doing any damage.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Vass Jr lands a beautiful switch and he's in full mount! That could spell trouble for Summers!
Summers blocking the ground and pound.
Vass Jr tucks in and makes sure he doesn't lose the dominant position.
Vass Jr tries to control but Summers wriggling away.

The crowd are getting on the fighters' backs, as the pace has dropped off in the last minute or so.
Vass Jr throwing strikes here but Summers is writhing around nicely and avoiding any serious damage.

Vass Jr gets to his feet and calls his opponent to stand. Here come the fireworks!

Vass Jr shoots in and scores a nice double leg takedown into half guard.

Vass Jr in half guard on the top. He's looking for a kimura... He's got it locked and he's managed to free his trapped foot. Summers tries to escape but it's on too tight and he has to tap! Great BJJ skills there from Vass Jr!
