Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Vladimir Vladiyev (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Loos Bird (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). We have two fighters making their debuts here, so let's see who comes out of this one with their first professional victory.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of St Petersburg, Vladimir Vladiyev!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of St Petersburg, Loos Bird!
The judges for this bout are Dmitry Maklakov, Aleksei Zolotukhin and Fedor Mirinova.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Bird shoots in for a takedown! He's got it and he's managed to land in full mount! That's better than Bird was expecting from the takedown attempt, I'm sure!
Vladiyev could do with loosing a few pounds - he looks very soft around the mid section, to put it politely.
Bird pausing momentarily but resumes with a couple of decent strikes that do a bit of damage.


Vladiyev is rocked!


It looks like Vladimir Vladiyev has been cut.
Bird controlling from the full mount.
Bird wants to control the pace but Vladiyev is squirming around nicely.
Bird throws an elbow from mount that misses. Lucky escape for Vladiyev because Bird loaded up on that one.

Bird wants to finish this one by submission but Vladiyev is holding onto his waist, trying to prevent any attacks from Bird.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Vladiyev can't escape the position.

Vladiyev wants to improve position but instead he's given up his back.

Bird is persistently looking for the submission but Vladiyev is defending it well.
Bird throws a big right hand but he misses and hits the mat. Ouch.
Bird is trying to stick to Vladiyev's back but Vladiyev is turning into Bird. He's managed to reverse the position - now he's in Bird's guard. Polite applause from the crowd in appreciation of some nice Jiu Jitsu by Vladiyev.

Vladiyev shoots in from a long way out. He's driving through with the takedown attempt and he eventually gets it, landing in Bird's guard.
Bird not looking particularly offensive just at the moment.
Vladiyev is intent on slowing down the pace of the fight, simply looking to control.

That was a close round but I would say that Vladimir Vladiyev will probably get the nod.

Vladiyev wants to take a breather but Bird is having none of it.

Bird changes levels and looks for a double leg takedown. Vladiyev tries to avoid it but Bird manages to keep hold of a leg and drag Vladiyev to the ground. Vladiyev escapes though and pops straight back up to his feet.

A big thud reverberates around the arena there as Bird accidentally thumps the mat. Hopefully he's not broken his hand.

It looks like we're going to have a standup here. Neither fight is doing enough on the ground.
Vladiyev shoots in looking for a takedown. Bird tries to sprawl out of it but Vladiyev keeps driving through. The fighters are pinned against the cage. Bird manages to get underhooks and after a bit of a struggle, circles away and we're back to standing.
The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end.

Vladiyev defends a decent attempt at a guillotine from Bird.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Loos Bird showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.

Vladiyev's corner calls for a 1,2 combination and Vladiyev duly obliges.

Vladiyev has managed to pull guard. Let's see whether he can work an aggressive guard. It will also be interesting to see what tactics Bird uses from the top position.
