Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Marlin McCann (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Steve Jenkins (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Steve Jenkins will no doubt be looking to use his reach advantage to good effect.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Jenkins throws a big shot that misses.
Jenkins moves into range and throws a combination. A nice jab followed by a hook to the body.

It looks like Marlin McCann has been cut.
Jenkins tries to clinch but fails miserably
and McCann counters with a crisp hook to the side of the head.

and McCann counters with a stiff right hand.
Steve Jenkins seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Jenkins throws a monster uppercut resembling something out of street fighter but it doesn't land.

A momentary lapse in concentration from Jenkins enables McCann to shoot in and score with a neat double leg. Jenkins manages to secure a closed guard as the fighters hit the mat.
This has been an exciting period of action!
McCann postures up in Jenkins's guard and throws a big left but Jenkins blocks it.
McCann slows down the pace of the fight, as he sits in guard.
Jenkins really doesn't want to stay on the ground with McCann. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.

The crowd are getting on the fighters' backs, as the pace has dropped off in the last minute or so.

McCann can't quite control the action as he would like just now, as Jenkins is looking to escape.

McCann shoots in looking for a takedown. Jenkins tries to sprawl out of it but McCann keeps driving through. The fighters are pinned against the cage. Jenkins manages to get underhooks and after a bit of a struggle, circles away and we're back to standing.
Jenkins throws a series of punches but McCann avoids them all with ease.
Jenkins looks to land a left hand but McCann moved out of range nicely.

It really doesn't seem like the step up in weight is hurting McCann here at all. He's more than holding his own against the bigger man.
The referee asks McCann politely if he wouldn't mind getting on with it and actually doing something. McCann prefers to stall for the moment though.

A big thud reverberates around the arena there as McCann accidentally thumps the mat. Hopefully he's not broken his hand.

The crowd are hurling abuse towards the fighters... You can hardly blame them though because there isn't a lot going on in the fight.

The referee decides to stand the fighters back up, due to lack of activity on the part of Marlin McCann.
Jenkins scores with a reasonable looking shot to the body. McCann doesn't seem bothered though.
Jenkins lunges in with swinging rights and lefts but McCann circles away quickly and effectively.
