The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Washington misses with a takedown attempt
and Kirby cracks him with a counter punch right on the button.
Washington closes the distance and clinches up with Kirby, looking for a takedown. Washington pushes Kirby against the cage but Kirby circles to the side and manages to break the clinch.
Kirby throws a combination but it was largely blocked by Washington.
Washington doesn't succeed with the takedown
and Kirby counters with a nice double leg into side control. Washington won't be happy with that.
Nate Kirby has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Troy Washington.
