Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Marcus Brutus (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Phil Brooks (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 9 - 6 - 0, fighting out of New York, Marcus Brutus!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 4 - 4 - 1, fighting out of New York, Phil Brooks!
The judges for this bout are Bruno Lombardi, Chad Campbell and Columbo Gatti.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Brutus gets caught on his heels momentarily as he allows Brooks to score an easy takedown into full guard.
Brutus is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive.
Brutus has momentary wrist control but Brooks slips an elbow through the middle.
Brooks throwing elbows and punches but not connecting, as Brutus works some decent striking defense from the bottom.
Both fighters really going for it on the ground here!
Brooks trying to control the position from guard on top but Brutus is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.
Brooks cracks Brutus with a solid left hand.
Brutus is doing well to control the posture of his opponent and prevent any damage.
Brooks wants to control from the top but Brutus keeps moving.

Brooks is trying to work a guillotine from the top, or something like that? Don't know how he thinks he's going to get a finish from there.

Brutus manages to escape and get back to his feet.

Brutus decides to stand back up. Brutus steps back and let's Brooks get back to his feet.

Brutus escapes his hips to the side and looks to be working for an armbar. Brooks gives him a little smile and shakes his head. No chance.

Brutus throws a couple of shots from the bottom but they don't land.

Phil Brooks dominated that round.
The referee calls time. The cornermen exit stage left and we're back to business.

Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.
A big thud reverberates around the arena there as Brooks accidentally thumps the mat. Hopefully he's not broken his hand.

Phil Brooks is fighting for a decision here - he's started to take the cautious approach.
Brooks stands up over Brutus, holding his feet. He dives back in and lands a decent shot to the head.

Marcus Brutus has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here!

Phil Brooks comfortably won the final round on my scorecard.
I've got Brooks winning every round here. Surely the decision will go his way and he'll pick up a well deserved decision victory. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
