And introducing the challenger to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 2 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Reggie Lafleur!
The judges for this bout are John Mangel, Steve Erwin and Winston Howard.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Wittchen swings away with a body shot that misses
and Lafleur counters with a good right hand that lands right on the jaw.

Lafleur swings around for an armbar but Wittchen sees it coming a mile off and turns beautifully into Lafleur's guard.

and Lafleur decides to take the opportunity to score a takedown. He's landed in Wittchen's guard.
A real slowdown in the pace of the fight for a moment, as Wittchen holds on and takes a little breather.

Wittchen stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Lafleur swivels though and keeps the full guard.

and Lafleur counters with a head kick. That will keep Wittchen thinking before he tries any more sloppy attacks!

so Lafleur counters with a double leg into guard. Good agility.

Wittchen manages to escape and get back to his feet.

Wittchen lands with a kick to the temple. Lafleur shrugs as if to say "is that all you've got?"

Lafleur has hold of a leg and is looking for a trip takedown. Wittchen avoids it nicely though and we remain in the clinch.

Lafleur is holding a leg here, probably looking for an ankle lock - he drops back and goes for it! Wittchen is in trouble! Is it all over??? No! Wittchen has escaped and now he's on top!

Wittchen got a little sloppy there for a moment and Lafleur has worked his way into a loose triangle - can he finish it?! No, Wittchen has managed to get both his arms back between Lafleur's legs - danger averted.

That was a close round. You could make an argument for either fighter but I would give it to Schnee Wittchen.
I think Wittchen has won this one but let's see what the judges have to say. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
