The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Tyler scores with a takedown into Henderson's guard. Henderson is active off his back here, looking for submissions.
Tyler trying to control but Henderson is working from the bottom. Tyler must be cautious of submissions here, given that his opponent has the superior Jiu Jitsu. A big thud reverberates around the arena there as Tyler accidentally thumps the mat. Hopefully he's not broken his hand. Henderson looking for a guillotine here but Tyler defends easily.
Tyler trying to pass the guard but can't manage it just yet. Henderson is working from a closed guard but he's struggling to control his opponent. Henderson keeping moving, preventing Tyler from controlling successfully.
That's one minute gone in the round. Henderson is pulling down on Tyler's head. It's preventing any offense from Tyler, at least for the moment. Henderson looking to control.
Calum Henderson has forced the referee to step in and bring the fight back to the feet. Henderson tries to sprawl but Tyler drives through with a takedown into half guard. Tyler seems to be taking a bit of a break to think of his next move. He lands a short punch in the meantime. Henderson has no desire to be mounted, so is trying to control. Tyler is working away from the top position though. Henderson actively working from the bottom here. Tyler really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Henderson. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Henderson is holding on to half guard well. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Henderson is looking to sinch up a guillotine here but Tyler pulls his head out easily. Henderson trying to control but Tyler postures up.
Henderson manages to get to full guard.
Tyler got a little sloppy there for a moment and Henderson has worked his way into a loose triangle - can he finish it?! No, Tyler has managed to get both his arms back between Henderson's legs - danger averted.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Henderson not looking particularly offensive just at the moment.
Tyler gets to his feet. Henderson looking to butt scoot but the ref puts an end to that. On your feet son! Henderson misses with a series of wild punches.
Henderson shoots for a takedown but Tyler saw that one coming a mile off and avoided it easily. Henderson lands a slapping body shot.
Henderson with a lazy takedown attempt and Tyler holds on and brings the fighters into a clinch. Henderson changes levels and goes for a takedown here. Tyler fights it off and pushes away nicely.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Calum Henderson. That's going to take a lot out of him. The fight moves into the clinch position.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Tyler has moved round to his opponent's back and is looking for a suplex! Oh snap! He's tossed Henderson clear over his head and slammed him to the mat! Henderson has the hand control, trying to stop the rear naked choke. Tyler is controlling his opponent, waiting for an opportunity to finish. Henderson trying to control the hands but Tyler won't let him. Henderson is trying to stand back up. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Jake Tyler dominated that round. The fighters get back to their feet, the hooter sounds and we're back to the action!
Tyler fails with an attempt to clinch.
A momentary lapse in concentration from Tyler enables Henderson to shoot in and score with a neat double leg. Tyler manages to secure a closed guard as the fighters hit the mat. Tyler working a defensive guard here.
Tyler looking to hit a scissor sweep but Henderson is one step ahead there. Henderson pushing down on Tyler's thigh, trying to pass to half guard. He's managed it... Nice work. Tyler is in trouble now - Henderson has advanced to mount! Tyler is breathing heavily. Tyler tries to lock up and control but Henderson gives him a forearm to the face and pushes him away. Henderson trying to control but he's not successful this time.
That's one minute gone in the round. Henderson looks like he's working for a submission but he's not found anything just yet. Henderson lands a nice shot to the head. Henderson landing strikes, looking to finish! Henderson working the ground and pound effectively.
Henderson fakes a shot to the body and cracks his opponent in the head. Nice ground and pound there!
The crowd are loving this. Great action here. Henderson content just to control the position here. Tyler is squirming around, avoiding Henderson's attempts to control the action.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Tyler takes a big shot to the head but keeps on trying to improve his position. Henderson connects with a couple of good shots from mount.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Henderson swings around for an armbar and he's got it! Wow, that came out of nowhere! What a finish!
