Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Abbas Frnas (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Matt Hughes (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). I'm sure you'll be fascinated to know that I was talking to some pointless Z list celebrity before the fight and he thought that Matt Hughes was going to win. Let's see if he was right.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of
2 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Abbas Frnas!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.

The judges for this bout are Felipe Paraventi, Emerson Jorge and Leandro Rodrigues.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Frnas swings away but doesn't land with a series of punches.
Hughes drives through with a really nice takedown into side control.
Frnas struggling a bit here.
Hughes connects with a decent looking elbow from side control that caused Frnas some visible discomfort.
Hughes really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Frnas. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.
Hughes remains in side control and seems content to stay there. It's a versatile position from which he can work both strikes and submissions, whilst maintaining that control, so maybe he'll sit here for a while.
Frnas takes a couple of big shots there - the referee warns him that he has to defend himself better.

Hughes looks up at the clock and then as Frnas takes his cue and looks up at the clock too, Hughes smacks him right in the chops with a big elbow! How rude!

Hughes lands a strong strike to the head of Frnas. That's dazed him! Hughes looking to finish here. Frnas is waving his arms around trying to block but he's hurt badly - Hughes lands more strikes and the referee steps in to end the fight!
