Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
6 - 4 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, James Woods! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
9 - 7 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Joe Holyfield! The judges for this bout are Wesley Smith, George Francis and Gwen Towbar.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! A left and a right from Holyfield both land. Nice combination. A decent looking cross lands there for Holyfield. Holyfield ducks right into an uppercut from Woods. Holyfield dips down and scores with a jab to the body. Holyfield misses with a wild body shot. Holyfield looks to score with a jab to the body but Woods is just out of range. The fight moves into the clinch position. Woods is trying to work for a single leg takedown but Holyfield pulls him back up using the underhooks. Holyfield cracks Woods with a nice body shot. Woods is breathing heavily. We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out! Holyfield lands with a short punch from the clinch.

Woods blocks a punch to the side of the head.
Holyfield misses with a punch to the body.
Holyfield is fighting off a takedown attempt but Woods is just too persistent for him and manages to trip Holyfield to the mat. Holyfield regains guard as soon as the fighters hit the mat. Holyfield trying to control the position.
Holyfield working the defensive guard well to avoid strikes from Woods. Woods with a flurry of punches that miss. Holyfield is trying to control the position but Woods postures up. Holyfield preventing the ground and pound from doing any damage. Both fighters really going for it on the ground here! Woods is looking to work some ground and pound but Holyfield has wrist control. Woods distracts Holyfield with his right hand and drops a big elbow with his other arm.
That's one minute gone in the round. Holyfield looking to hit a scissor sweep but Woods is one step ahead there. Holyfield preventing the ground and pound from doing any damage. Woods with a flurry of punches that miss. Woods postures up.
Woods has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission. Woods slips effortlessly into side control - very nice. Woods cracks Holyfield with a big right hand but Holyfield just smiles back at him and invites him to have another go.
Woods tries for an arm triangle. That looks pretty tight to me. Is this one over!?! Possibly, maybe, no Woods has let go of the choke. Obviously it wasn't as tight as we thought! Woods lands a knee to the body and follows it up with some ground and pound to the head. That will wear Holyfield down.
Holyfield tries to bench press Woods off him but Woods keeps the position. Woods scoring with punches and elbows. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Holyfield struggling a bit here.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Holyfield tries to work a leg under to get back to half guard but Woods wriggles his own leg back out and remains in side control. Holyfield takes a big shot right to the temple there but he's taken it well.
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show! Holyfield is trying to control Woods's posture but Woods avoids it. Woods is in a dominant position here, looking for a kimura. Holyfield looks calm but he's in trouble here. Woods gets his leg over his opponent's head and yanks on the arm. Holyfield is tapping like a morse code operator on the titanic! SOS! SOS! Woods lets go of the hold and Holyfield can pop his arm back in it's socket.
