The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
De Noteboom looks for a takedown here. Will he get it? Liddown is fending him off so far but De Noteboom persists. Nope, Liddown circles away and we're back to standing.

De Noteboom tries to shoot in for a takedown. He's got hold of a leg but Liddown swivels and escapes.

Liddown throws a series of punches but De Noteboom moves out of range.
Liddown tries to bum rush De Noteboom with a series of wild strikes but De Noteboom uses good footwork to avoid the assault.
De Noteboom tries for a takedown but Liddown sees it coming a mile off and avoids it easily.
Chuck Liddown has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Robert De Noteboom.
De Noteboom shoots in for a takedown but Liddown shows good takedown defense.
De Noteboom should think about turning a few of those tyres round his middle into muscle if he wants people to take him seriously as an athlete.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

De Noteboom shoots in looking for a single leg takedown. Liddown is trying to defend but De Noteboom finishes it well and ends up in half guard. Let's see if he can advance position further.
De Noteboom is taking a breather. Liddown says something to him but it's hard to make out. Perhaps he's telling him to get on with it and actually do something.

Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it.

The crowd are starting to boo a lack of action.

Liddown on his back here. We all know that wrestlers don't like being on their back so let's see if Liddown tries to get out of the position.
The crowd thankful this round is nearly over.
Liddown dodges the ground and pound from De Noteboom.

The crowd are hurling abuse towards the fighters... You can hardly blame them though because there isn't a lot going on in the fight.
De Noteboom sends his fist crashing into the mat - the crowd let out a collective ooooooh. Let's hope he's not broken it!
De Noteboom tucks in and makes sure he doesn't lose the dominant position.
