Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Henry Huynh (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Kurt Summers (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Well, the cameraman is lingering on a pretty young lady for a bit too long there. Keep your eyes on the fighters buddy or you'll miss the fighter intros!

And introducing the challenger to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.

The judges for this bout are Winston Howard, Summer Carpenter and John Mangel.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Summers loads up on a big right hand but Huynh slips the punch.
A lazy body kick from Summers
and Huynh counters with a quick right hand to the jaw.
Summers throws a right hand that misses
and Huynh counters with a quick right hand to the jaw.
A head kick by Summers misses
and Huynh counters with a quick right hand to the jaw.
Summers throws a combination but comes up with nothing but fresh air.

and Huynh counters with a nice uppercut.
No joy there for Summers, who threw a few shots but didn't land.
Summers lands a nice looking kick to the body. Huynh takes a step back to recover.

Huynh shoots in but doesn't get the takedown
and Summers counters with a lovely straight right hand!
Summers stuns Huynh with a nice body shot, before stepping back out of range.
Summers is looking to clinch.
Summers tries to clinch but is not successful on this occasion.
Summers throws a lazy head kick
and Huynh counters with a low kick, right behind Summers 's knee.
Summers misses with a double jab
and Huynh counters with a left to the body.

Summers tries to grapple but his opponent circles

and Huynh counters with a nice shoot takedown that brings the fighters to the ground.
This has been an exciting period of action!
Huynh wants to control from the top but Summers keeps moving.
Huynh is looking to work some ground and pound but Summers has wrist control.
Huynh stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Summers swivels though and keeps the full guard.

A big thud reverberates around the arena there as Huynh accidentally thumps the mat. Hopefully he's not broken his hand.
Huynh has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission.

Summers pushes Huynh off and scrambles back to his feet.
Huynh misses with a body shot.
Summers throws a sloppy head kick
and Huynh counters with a right hand to the body.
Huynh avoids the head kick by Summers.

Huynh looks for a takedown here. Will he get it? Summers is fending him off so far but Huynh persists. Nope, Summers circles away and we're back to standing.

Huynh changes levels and drives through with a really nice takedown into side control. Summers looks really pissed at himself for not defending that better.
Huynh is pausing for a moment. What's he doing? It looks like he's clearing his nose. Oh dude! He's shot a load of snot all down Summers's shoulder. That is not cool.
The ground and pound from Huynh seems to be hitting the mat more than his opponent.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

That's the end of the interval. I'm sure that seemed a lot quicker than a minute for our two fighters! Back to the action.


Summers throws out a token jab with nothing on it.
Huynh slips a straight right by Summers.

We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Huynh uses some good footwork to avoid the body shot by Summers.

Summers is looking to stand back up... there's a bit of a scramble and Huynh dives into side control.
Summers seems a little lost for a moment, as Huynh dominates the positioning.

Huynh is trying to land an Americana. He has the arm isolated but Summers is keeping cool and he's avoided the danger for now.

The crowd are hurling abuse towards the fighters... You can hardly blame them though because there isn't a lot going on in the fight.
Huynh looking to punish the body of his opponent here but Summers is avoiding damage well.

Huynh looking for an arm triangle but it's way too loose to do anything.
Summers wants to get back to his feet but Huynh drags him back down.
The crowd thankful this round is nearly over.
Huynh postures up a little and throws a couple of hammerfists but they don't connect properly.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

The fighters' corners scream their final instructions, as the referee calls time. Here we go, back to the action!

so Huynh counters with a double leg into guard. Good agility.
Huynh throwing strikes but missing.

Huynh working in close now, lands a nice elbow to the side of Summers's head.

Huynh closes this distance looking for a takedown but Summers circles away.

Huynh uses his free foot to push down on Summers's thigh. Eventually he works his other foot free and he's advanced to mount - this is trouble for Summers.
Summers is bucking up trying to escape but Huynh cracks him with another couple of good strikes.

This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!

Summers misses with a left hand

and Huynh counters with a shoot takedown into half guard.
Huynh throwing shots but they're hitting the canvas more than the man.
Huynh is pressing down on Summers's thigh, looking to free his foot. Summers is holding on for now.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Huynh is looking to take a break and control but Summers is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom.
