Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the featherweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
8 - 7 - 1, fighting out of St Petersburg, Mike Hunt! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
5 - 4 - 1, fighting out of St Petersburg, Hugh Hefner! The judges for this bout are Aleksandr Martynov, Aleksei Zolotukhin and Konstantin Menshow.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Hefner scores with a jab. Hefner explodes with a nice body kick and back out of range. Nice work. Hunt throws a jab, cross combination which is slipped
and Hefner counters with a nice double leg into half guard. Hunt tries to get to full guard but Hefner has control of the leg. Hunt is working hard here to advance position. Hefner trying to control the pace. Hunt has hold of Hefner's hands but Hefner slips his arm to the side and lands an elbow. Hefner not landing any meaningful shots this time. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Hunt tries to get to full guard but Hefner has control of the leg. Hefner passes to side control. Hunt is not content to let Hefner control the position.
That's one minute gone in the round. Hefner tries to cartwheel into mount but he doesn't manage it. Hefner landing with strikes to the head and body from side control. Hunt is looking to reverse the position. Hunt managing to avoid any damage from the strikes thrown by Hefner.
Hefner is looking for a kimura. He might have it! No, Hunt has escaped the position, nice work there. Hefner is moving around in side control but his primary objective seems to be to maintain the position.
That's two minutes gone in the round. The crowd are starting to boo a lack of action. Hunt stops Hefner from passing to mount. The ground and pound from Hefner seems to be hitting the mat more than his opponent. Hefner trying to control the position but Hunt is working away. Hefner scores with punches from side control. Hefner looks up at the clock and then as Hunt takes his cue and looks up at the clock too, Hefner smacks him right in the chops with a big elbow! How rude!
Hunt is looking for a sweep. Hefner wants to lay and pray for a moment but Hunt keeps working.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Hunt taking punishment in the form of punches.
Hunt is trying to get back to half guard. He's pushing on Hefner's leg. He's managed it. Nice work. Hefner working over Hunt with some ground and pound. Hunt looks like he wants out of this position, which is understandable. Hunt is looking for a sweep. Hefner is wise to his cunning plan and keeps the top position. Hefner not doing much here.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Hefner wants to control but Hunt is keeping him busy. Hefner is figuring out what he wants to do next. It looks like the ref is thinking about a standup.
The ref calls for a clean break and stands the fighters back up. Hugh Hefner wasn't active enough on the ground. Hunt closes the distance and gets a trip takedown into side control. Hefner quickly recovers to half guard. Hunt is working for a kimura but Hefner is defending it quite comfortably.

Hugh Hefner dominated that round. The referee calls time. The cornermen exit stage left and we're back to business.
Hefner cracks Hunt with a good shot that sees him stumbling back into the cage. Hunt misses with a left hand and Hefner counters with a nice uppercut. Some wild striking there from Hunt.

Mike Hunt is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things. Hefner moves into range and connects with a jab. Hefner scores with a jab. Hunt acknowledges it with a nod of the head. Hefner connects with a jab. Hefner drops his hands momentarily and Hunt takes advantage with a crisp shot to the head. Hefner avoids a punch combination nicely.
Hefner tries to sprawl but Hunt drives through with a takedown into half guard. Hefner has no desire to be mounted, so is trying to control. Hunt is working away from the top position though. Hefner makes some distance and scrambles quickly back to his feet. Nice work! The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here. Hunt takes a shot right to the bread basket. Hefner scores with a punch to the gut of his opponent. Hefner jabs at Hunt's body. Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here. Hunt fakes with an overhand right and moves in to clinch with Hefner, pushing him back against the cage. Hunt blocks the elbow strike.
Hunt works for the underhooks and manages to get a trip takedown into guard. Hefner seems keen to control Hunt's posture.
That's one minute gone in the round. Hefner is trying to stand up but he's not managed so far. Hefner is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive. Hugh Hefner has got the better of the ground game so far. Hefner scrambles and gets back to his feet.
Wow, both these guys are really going for it! Hunt misses with a few strikes there.
Hunt rushes Hefner and presses him up against the cage. Hunt has moved round to his opponent's back and is looking for a suplex! Oh snap! He's tossed Hefner clear over his head and slammed him to the mat! Hunt misses with an elbow to the head. Hefner holding both Hunt 's hands and preventing any damage. Hunt loading up with punches from the back mount - how long can Hefner hold on?
That's two minutes gone in the round. Hefner tries to escape the position - he's now mounted. Is that better or worse? Hard to tell! Hefner can't escape the position.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Both fighters really going for it on the ground here! Hefner bucks up and manages to get a nice reversal! He's in guard on the top - nicely done! Hefner is stalling in the full guard. Let's hope that Hefner has the urge to step up the pace any second now because for the last 15 or 20 seconds he's just been holding on tight. Hefner wants to control from the top but Hunt keeps moving.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Hefner looking to sit in guard and control but Hunt gets the butterfly guard and sweeps. He's now in the guard on the top. Hefner working the defensive guard well to avoid strikes from Hunt. There's a bit of a scramble here and now Hefner is on top in guard.
Hefner throwing shots from guard but he's hitting more mat than opponent. Hefner wants to pass the guard but Hunt is keeping the position. Hefner trying to control but Hunt is working from the bottom. Hefner is in a good position here but he's just trying to control... And he's not even managing to do that successfully.

The ref stands the fighters back up. Hugh Hefner was stalling too much, according to the referee. Hunt will need to tighten up his combinations if he doesn't want to gas himself out, swinging at thin air.
The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end. Hefner has managed to clinch.

Mike Hunt dominated that second round. The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action. This is the final round!
Hefner gets caught on his heels momentarily as he allows Hunt to score an easy takedown into full guard. Hunt is sitting in guard, working some ground and pound. Hefner is looking to get back to his feet but can't, whilst Hunt is controlling him. Hunt pressing down on his opponent's thigh, looking to pass guard. Hefner is keeping the position for now. Hefner trying to control the position.

That's one minute gone in the round. Hunt loading up with the ground and pound but he's missing more than he's landing in this flurry. Hefner wants to get back to his feet but Hunt is in a dominant position and won't allow it. Hunt throwing elbows and punches but not connecting, as Hefner works some decent striking defense from the bottom. Hefner is looking to stand back up but Hunt counters by passing into half guard. Oops... bit sloppy there by Hefner. Hunt looking to pass the half guard. Not this time. Hunt works his way into side control. Hefner is trying to buck Hunt off. Hefner takes a big intake of breath there - he's definitely tired.
That's two minutes gone in the round. The crowd are hurling abuse towards the fighters... You can hardly blame them though because there isn't a lot going on in the fight. Hunt fails to land a wild elbow strike.
Hunt wants to control but Hefner is keeping him busy. Hunt working away diligently from side control. Landing strikes effectively there - that will score him some points on the judges scorecards.
Hunt misses with a strike but at least he's keeping busy, looking to cause some damage - that will still help him when it comes to the judges scorecards.

Hunt tries for a kimura but Hefner is defending well. Hefner explodes and escapes back to his feet! Nice escape there! Hefner closes the distance, clinches up and gets a nice trip takedown into side control. Very smooth. Hefner is looking to take a break and control but Hunt is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom. Hefner slows the pace down.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Hunt tries to bench press Hefner off him but Hefner keeps the position. Hunt being controlled for a moment. Hefner trying to control the position but Hunt is working away. Hefner staying calm.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it.
Hugh Hefner has forced the referee to step in and restart the fight on the feet. Hefner's jab looks to have found its range, popping Hunt under the eye. Hefner showing good head movement there, avoiding the strikes from Hunt.
Hefner connects with a lovely right hand, straight down the pipe. Hefner scores with a jab to the body. The crowd cheers as Hefner lands an impressive looking overhand right. Hunt doesn't seem phased though. Hefner gets to the clinch - let's see what his plan is here. Hunt wants the takedown. Hefner is fighting it off but Hunt persists and manages to bring the fight to the ground, ending up in Hefner's guard against the cage. Hefner looking for a sweep. Not yet Hefner, not yet. Hefner wants to get back to his feet but Hunt is in a dominant position and won't allow it. Hefner looking for a sweep. Not yet Hefner, not yet. Hefner looking to control.
Hunt slips effortlessly into side control - very nice. Hefner is looking to work his way out of this bad position but Hunt is controlling him well. Hefner sneaks a leg under to get back to half guard.
And that's the end of the fight! That was a close round. You could make an argument for either fighter but I would give it to Mike Hunt. I think Hunt has won this one but let's see what the judges have to say. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
