Coming up we have a featherweight MMA rules bout between Vasily Kharlamov (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Jason Black (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). We have two fighters making their debuts here, so let's see who comes out of this one with their first professional victory.

Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

The judges for this bout are Roosa Järviläinen, Ben Zyskovitsi and Tarja Halkonen.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Kharlamov closes the distance and clinches up, looking for a takedown. He shifts his weight and gets a nice trip into half guard.
Kharlamov stops Black from getting back to his feet.
Black keeps control of the position for the meantime.
Kharlamov seems to have lost interest with the ground game and is thinking about standing back up.
Black wants to improve his position but Kharlamov is controlling well.
Kharlamov wants to lay and pray for a moment but Black keeps working.
Black really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Kharlamov. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.

Black looks to land a left hand but Kharlamov moved out of range nicely.

Kharlamov works to advance to full mount. Black defends for a few seconds but eventually he succumbs.

Black moves out of range of the body kick from Kharlamov.
Black pushes forward with a 1-2 combination that forces Kharlamov back to the cage. Black follows up with a solid lead hook to the liver.

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Kharlamov will have to do better than that with his takedown attempts.

We get told so often about how wrestlers don't like to be on their backs. Let's see if Black can do anything to dispel that myth.
Black pushes Kharlamov off and scrambles back to his feet.

Jason Black seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Kharlamov lands with a hook. Black tried to avoid it but it clipped the top of his head.
Kharlamov feints and as Black raises his hands in defense, Kharlamov changes levels and drives through with a takedown into guard.

Black wants to control but Kharlamov postures up.

The crowd are hurling abuse towards the fighters... You can hardly blame them though because there isn't a lot going on in the fight.
Black is trying to avoid being dragged into an even worse position than he's already in but Kharlamov is staying active.
Black tries to work a leg under to get back to half guard but Kharlamov wriggles his own leg back out and remains in side control.

The crowd growing excited in anticipation of a finish here! Right on cue, Black cracks his opponent with a massive right hand that draws loud cheers!

The referee warns Kharlamov that he has to improve his position here as he takes two more clean shots to the head.
Kharlamov tries to hold on but Black pushes him away.
Black lands a couple of nice shots there from mount.

OK. That's time! The bell goes and we're back to the action. Ladies and gentlemen, this is the final round!
Kharlamov fails miserably with a takedown attempt.

Black clinches up with Kharlamov and pushes him back against the cage.

and Kharlamov takes a counter punch right on the button for his troubles.
Kharlamov sees a low kick coming and goes to check it, but it's actually a body kick and it thuds into his unprotected ribs.
Kharlamov takes a body punch but keeps moving.
Both fighters are breathing heavily.
Kharlamov slips a jab and a cross from Black.
Black has managed to clinch.
Black slows down the pace here.
Kharlamov jumps guard but his hands slip and he falls flat on his back. Well, he's made himself look a right mug there, as Black walks away with a smile on his face. Kharlamov gets slowly back to his feet and shakes his head.

Kharlamov takes a thudding leg kick, right into the meat of the thigh.
Black throws a head kick but Kharlamov moves out of range.

Black digs a right hand underneath Kharlamov's ribcage. Kharlamov let out a lung full of air as it connected.

Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless.
Kharlamov jumps guard.
Kharlamov is looking to stand up but Black isn't so interested in that idea.
Black wants to control from the top but Kharlamov keeps moving.
Black throws and elbow that misses. Kharlamov uses the momentum to reverse the position. He's now in Black's guard. Nice move by Kharlamov!
Black looking for subs off his back but Kharlamov has passed one foot through into half guard.

Kharlamov can't quite control the action as he would like just now, as Black is looking to escape.
Black wants to hold on but Kharlamov pushes him away.

Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it.
Kharlamov is working on an americana here. Ooh, that looks pretty nasty! Nope, Black has managed to escape the submission attempt.
Black is trying to stand up.
Black tries to reverse the position but Kharlamov maintains control.
Vasily Kharlamov overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far.

That was a close round. You could make an argument for either fighter but I would give it to Vasily Kharlamov.
Well I reckon that's a shut out for Kharlamov, winning every round. Will the judges agree? They are the ones who matter, even if they are often depressingly incompetent. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
