Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
3 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Christian Alkofer! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
5 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Terence McKenna! The judges for this bout are Skip Squint, Eliza Hachem and Steve Erwin.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! McKenna misses with a low kick. McKenna moves into range and lands a nice leg kick. McKenna misses with a wild body shot. Alkofer checks a low kick from McKenna. McKenna keeps Alkofer at a distance using the push kick. McKenna thows a leg kick but Alkofer checks it enabling Alkofer to counter with a crisp jab. Alkofer keeping a good distance there, avoiding the body shot.
Alkofer shoots in for a takedown! He's got it and he's managed to land in full mount! That's better than Alkofer was expecting from the takedown attempt, I'm sure! Alkofer breaks from McKenna's wrist control and lands an elbow. Alkofer working the ground and pound effectively.
McKenna is wriggling around trying to escape.
McKenna really wants to buck Alkofer off and get back to his feet. Alkofer working McKenna over with strikes here. Alkofer landing strikes from the mount and McKenna is in trouble! Alkofer tucks in and makes sure he doesn't lose the dominant position. McKenna really trying hard to get back to half guard here.

That's two minutes gone in the round. A nice elbow there by Alkofer. Alkofer is still in mount, landing shots to his trapped opponent. McKenna can't stay in a position like this for much longer.
McKenna tries to reverse the position but Alkofer maintains control. Alkofer controlling from the full mount. Alkofer lands a big shot there that rocks McKenna but he's holding on and managing to survive for now.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Alkofer content just to control the position here. McKenna sneaks a leg back under and regains half guard and is working straight away to try and get back to guard. He hasn't managed just yet though. McKenna wants to sweep but Alkofer has passed to side control! You can see the frustration on McKenna's face, being in this tough position on the bottom.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Alkofer sitting in side control, looking to soften his opponent up with elbows and hammerfists but McKenna is avoiding damage well and looking to escape the position.

That's four minutes gone in the round. The crowd are showing their displeasure at the lack of action as loud boos ring out around the arena. McKenna tries to bench press Alkofer off him but Alkofer keeps the position. McKenna manages to get one leg in to regain half guard. Alkofer not throwing his punches with enough precision this time. Alkofer with a momentary lay and pray from half guard. Alkofer missing with the ground and pound from half guard. Alkofer sitting and controlling from the half guard. McKenna gets back to full guard.
Alkofer throwing shots from guard but he's hitting more mat than opponent. Alkofer slips nicely into half guard. The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end. Alkofer looks over to his corner - he wants some instructions but his corner are not responding. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

McKenna lands a head kick!

Alkofer feints and as McKenna raises his hands in defense, Alkofer changes levels and drives through with a takedown into guard. Alkofer engaging in some classic timewasting tactics. Alkofer throws a big right hand that misses. McKenna looking to sweep using the butterfly guard but Alkofer puts pay to that idea as he passes nicely into half guard. McKenna moves into full guard.

That's one minute gone in the round. Alkofer in full guard, throwing the ground and pound. No damage this time. Alkofer postures up to throw the ground and pound strikes but they don't connect. Alkofer landing with the ground and pound. McKenna looking for a sweep. Not yet McKenna, not yet. Alkofer's corner is telling him to maintain position. Alkofer passes McKenna's left leg - he's now in half guard. Alkofer content to sit in half guard and control for a moment.
That's two minutes gone in the round. McKenna is looking for a sweep. Alkofer is wise to his cunning plan and keeps the top position. Alkofer takes a deep breath and rests his weight momentarily on top of his opponent, to control the position. Alkofer seems to have a rather negative gameplan on the ground. He seems keen to just score the takedown and hold down McKenna for as long as he can get away with. McKenna is trying to get back to full guard. Alkofer controlling the action here.
We're going to have a standup here because Christian Alkofer wasn't active enough for the referee's liking. McKenna misses with a straight left. McKenna throws a low kick but it's checked well by Alkofer. Alkofer closes the distance and gets a double leg, slamming McKenna to the mat! McKenna manages to get full guard. Alkofer has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission. McKenna being controlled here, momentarily.

That's four minutes gone in the round. The crowd are hurling abuse towards the fighters... You can hardly blame them though because there isn't a lot going on in the fight. Alkofer manages to escape and get back to his feet.
Terence McKenna is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs. McKenna gets taken down but at least he's managed to land in guard. Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here. Alkofer distracts McKenna with his right hand and drops a big elbow with his other arm. Alkofer scoring with punches to the head and body. McKenna is trying to control the position but Alkofer postures up. Both fighters really going for it on the ground here! Alkofer not doing a lot at the moment. He'll have to show some more aggression or the fight will get stood up. Alkofer slips effortlessly into side control - very nice. Alkofer in side control lands a nice looking series of punches and elbows. Alkofer taking a breather here. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Alkofer ducks under a wild hook from McKenna. Alkofer closes the distance, clinches up and gets a nice trip takedown into side control. Very smooth. Alkofer looks up at the clock and then as McKenna takes his cue and looks up at the clock too, Alkofer smacks him right in the chops with a big elbow! How rude!
Alkofer just content to control the position. McKenna tries to bench press Alkofer off him but Alkofer keeps the position. Alkofer moving around in side mount but really he's just happy to control for now. Christian Alkofer overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far. McKenna is looking for a sweep. McKenna gives up the full mount - oops, sloppy defensive grappling there! McKenna can't escape the position.

And that's the end of the fight! Christian Alkofer showed his dominance in that final round. Well I reckon that's a shut out for Alkofer, winning every round. Will the judges agree?
