The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Ortiz takes a shot to the body in his stride.

Bison paws at his opponent with the jab and then lunges in with a straight, right on the button.

Bison thuds his right hand into Ortiz's forehead from close range. That could be painful for both fighters.
Ortiz closes the distance and scores a nice trip takedown into half guard. Bison did well to prevent Ortiz getting side control.
Ortiz thows a huge punch but Bison dodges it nicely.

Ortiz's ground tactics aren't going to win him many fans. Let's hope he's got fireworks for us if he gets back to his feet because he's not doing much on the ground.

A few boos can be heard. I'm sure they will multiply if the fighters don't pick up the pace.

The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

and Bison connects with a straight left hand counter down the middle.
It looks like Tito Ortiz has been cut.
Mike Bison is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things.
Ortiz takes a body punch that cleary hurt but he's trying not to show any weakness.

Bison connects with a leg kick. He turned his hip over nicely there.
The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.

Bison stalks Ortiz and leaps in with a furious combination of punches. Uppercuts and crosses smash into Ortiz's face. Ortiz staggers backwards, shaken.

Bison's corner calls for a 1-2. Bison obliges with the 1 part as he scores the single shot and moves back out of range.

Bison throws a leg kick but Ortiz sees it coming and checks it nicely.

This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!

Bison goes to the watering hole and comes back with a big thumbs up from the judges as he scores a three punch combo.

Bison comes forward and lands a shot to the body, then darts back out of range.

Ooooh, nice body kick lands from Bison. Ortiz shrugs it off though.
Ortiz closes the distance and takes a jab right on the nose as he does so.

Bison throws a series of strikes that have Ortiz backpedaling.
Ortiz doesn't react quick enough there as he takes a shot to the body.
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!

Bison scores with a reasonable looking shot to the body. Ortiz doesn't seem bothered though.

Bison shuffles to his left behind two crisp jabs. Ortiz eats them both and turns towards Bison to reposition himself and eats a stinging right hand-left hook combo.

Mike Bison seems to be getting the better of the standup.
Bison throws a push kick but Ortiz slaps the foot to one side.

Bison lands with a nice combination. Ortiz backs away looking to recover.
Mike Bison is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs.
Bison lands a leg kick. The shin dug right into the meat of the thigh.

Jeez, Tito Ortiz's cut is really nasty now. The referee must be thinking about getting that checked.
The fighters circle momentarily. Bison darts into range and connects with a nice straight punch.
Oh Ortiz is still all over the place! His legs are completely gone! Will he be able to recover?!!
The referee calls the doctor in to look at Tito Ortiz's cut. Oh no, the doctor has called an end to the bout!
