Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Michael Cain (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and John Boss (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). The key to victory for Michael Cain has got to be keeping the fight on the feet.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of New York, Michael Cain!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 1 - 0, fighting out of New York, John Boss!
The judges for this bout are Steve Montenegro, Franklyn Lucas and Dean Styles.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Cain tries to keep at a distance but Boss has taken the fight into the clinch.

Boss decides to pull guard.
Cain trying to control but Boss is working from the bottom.
There's a bit of a scramble here and now Boss is on top in guard.
Boss controlling from the guard. I say controlling but really, he's stalling.
Boss forces his way into half guard.
Boss moves nicely into side control.
Cain is trying to improve his position.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Cain stops Boss from passing to mount.
Cain tries to improve position but can't.
Boss tries to score with some ground and pound. Cain controls his posture well this time though and the shots don't do any damage.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Boss lands a few punches from side control.
Boss happy to just control the position for now.
Boss tries to advance to mount but can't.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
The crowd are starting to boo a lack of action.
Boss controls the position.
Cain is looking to regain half guard here but Boss keeps moving and retains side control.
Cain is looking to slip a leg under and get half guard but Boss is one step ahead and moves to full mount!
Cain tries to get back to half guard but can't.

Boss stands up from the dominant position, so we're back on the feet.
Good work by Cain as he checks the leg kick.

Cain gets tackled into the cage by Boss. Boss maintains the clinch.

Boss pulls guard effortlessly.

Boss escapes his hips to the side and looks to be working for an armbar. Cain gives him a little smile and shakes his head. No chance.
Boss is pulling down on Cain's head. It's preventing any offense from Cain, at least for the moment.
Boss wants to sweep but no luck.
Boss manages to sweep nicely, so he's now on top. Cain manages to get himself to full guard.
Cain is breathing heavily.

That's four minutes gone in the round.

Boss stands up and waves to Cain to follow him.
Cain closes the distance looking to clinch

and Boss counters with a takedown into side control.
Cain avoids any damage from the ground and pound of Boss.
Boss tries to land with some ground and pound but misses.
Boss tries to move into full mount but can't pass Cain's legs.
Cain takes an elbow right on the bridge of the nose and winces in pain.

Boss wants to work for a kimura but he's foiled early by Cain, who protects the arm well.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

John Boss dominated that round.
OK. That's time! The bell goes and we're back to the action.



Boss drives through with a takedown into guard.
Boss's corner is telling him to maintain position.
Boss sneaks a leg through and gets to half guard. That was like a knife through butter how easily he passed Cain's guard.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Boss sitting and controlling from the half guard.
Boss missing with some ground and pound from the half guard.
Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.

Boss stands up from half guard.

Boss clinches.
Cain missing with knees to the body.

Boss jumps into guard, dragging Cain to the mat.
Boss throws a couple of weedy looking strikes off his back.

Boss looking for submissions from the bottom here. Moving his hips around, possibly looking for an armbar.
Boss is controlling Cain's posture.
Boss looking to hit a scissor sweep but Cain is one step ahead there.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
Boss pulls Cain in close to prevent any damage.
There's a bit of a scramble here and now Boss is on top in guard.
Boss controls from within his opponent's guard.
Boss slips nicely into half guard.
Boss is figuring out what he wants to do next.

That's three minutes gone in the round.
Cain keeping his head moving to avoid the ground and pound.

Boss postures up and decides to stand up, from the half guard. The ref calls for Cain to stand up.

Boss shoots in from a long way out. He's driving through with the takedown attempt and he eventually gets it, landing in Cain's guard.
Boss looking to control the position here, rather than advance.
Boss tries to free his leg and advance position but Cain is retaining full guard.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
Boss slows down the pace of the fight for a moment. He'll need to remain active if he doesn't want to see the fight stood back up.
We must be close to a standup if these guys don't pick up the pace.

OK we're going to have a standup here. John Boss hasn't been effective enough on the ground and the referee wants a restart.

Boss scores with a takedown into Cain's guard.
Boss controlling from the guard. I say controlling but really, he's stalling.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

John Boss showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.
The minute break is over - no more time for sponges and pep talks - back to the action! Let's get this one finished - here comes the final round!


Cain misses with the combination.
Boss throws a lazy uppercut
and Cain cracks him with a counter punch right on the button.

Boss darts in and lands a nice takedown into half guard.
Cain throws a strike from the bottom that misses.
Still in half guard, Boss seems content to control.
Both fighters are breathing heavily.

That's one minute gone in the round.
It looks like the ref is thinking about a standup.
Cain keeping his head moving to avoid the ground and pound.
Boss not throwing his punches with enough precision this time.
Well, if Boss is going to just lie there, perhaps we should talk about what we're having for dinner tonight… I'm having a ham and pineapple pizza… Yum. Can't wait.

OK we're going to have a standup here. John Boss hasn't been effective enough on the ground and the referee wants a restart.
Cain moves to clinch but Boss breaks away

and Boss counters with a takedown into full mount! That could mean trouble for Cain!

Boss throwing strikes here but Cain is writhing around nicely and avoiding any serious damage.
Boss takes a little breather and maintains the position. The referee will be looking for him to stay active from such a dominant position though.

Boss is going oldschool here, as he tries to force Cain to tap using a forearm choke. This isn't 1993 though, so Cain shrugs it off.
Boss thuds his fist into the canvas! Oooouch!
Cain is desperately trying to improve his position but Boss has a good base and remains in mount.

Boss controlling from the full mount.
A nice elbow there by Boss.
Boss looking to control and managing it successfully.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless.
Boss thowing strikes but they're hitting the gloves, not doing any damage.
Boss content just to control the position here.
Cain is desperately trying to get back to half guard.
The referee is asking the fighters to pick up the pace.
Boss tucks in and makes sure he doesn't lose the dominant position.

And that's the end of the fight!
John Boss comfortably won the final round on my scorecard.
I've got Boss winning every round here. Surely the decision will go his way and he'll pick up a well deserved decision victory. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
